Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of a Senior Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you will:

Business Analysis serves a critical purpose as a bridge between our customers / users and the HSBC Technology (HTI) engineering team that designs, develops, tests and deploys HSBC Payments systems.

The Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the underlying needs of the business are unambiguously articulated and that project stakeholders reach a common detailed understanding of “what” will be delivered.

The BA is a key consultant (critical link) to our stakeholders and works closely with SMEs to elicit, capture, analyse, consolidate, and communicate business and functional requirements.

The following responsibilities are expected:

• Liaise directly with business SMEs and stakeholders to ensure that the underlying business need is clearly understood and agreed.
• Collaborate with business SMEs and stakeholders to produce detailed user requirements that concisely and unambiguously describe the details of the business problem to be resolved.
• Analyse product requirements from a broad, and end-to-end, perspective; identify impacts to new / existing business processes, other Group Solutions and other stakeholders / organizations.
• Work with product managers, solutions architects, and engineer leads to identify and fulfil functional documentation required to clearly and accurately express complex operations and end-to-end business requirements.
• Lead and develop global team of high performing Business Analysts with Payments & Data applications.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Interest in listening to SMEs to understand how business need drives requirements.
• Experience in requirements gathering and analysis techniques. Familiarity with AGILE and Scaled AGILE methodologies.
• Ability to see past the symptoms of the issue to the root cause, ensuring that the strategic solution is adopted.
• Ability to build strong working relationships within the Technology teams and business stakeholders; and communicate with a diverse set of stakeholders; culturally aware.
• Experience in Data warehousing projects, systems, GCP/Cloud Technologies, Payments Domain and SWIFT Messages.

The successful candidate will also meet the following requirements:

• Experience in Payments Domain systems link (Fusion, GPS; Payment Engines); End to End Payment flows.
• Experience in GCP as additional advantage.
• Experience of having worked in ISO20022 implementations; Data migrations.
