Core Purpose of Role
The core purpose of the homeroom teacher role is to enable students to learn effectively and to provide support for the academic and pastoral needs of the students. The teacher should always support the aims and values of the school.

Qualifications/Trainings
- Bachelor in Education
- Diploma in Early Child Care Education
- Teaching Certification And/or Qualifications In The IB PYP.
- Post graduate qualification in Education
Experience
- Minimum of [2-3] years of teaching experience, in an IB PYP environment as a Homeroom Teacher.
Skills
- Strong understanding of the IB PYP framework, inquiry-based learning, and concept-driven curriculum.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into the classroom.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team setting.

Teacher Effectiveness: Teaching & Learning
The Teacher Should:
- Contribute to the development of curriculum and production of units/schemes of work
- Become familiar with the curriculum guidelines, and work towards their successful implementation Demonstrate an understanding of inquiry and give students choices to show their understanding
- Decide and explain clear learning objectives, and set appropriate assignments with an adequate time allocation
- Present material in a clear, organized fashion
- Stimulate interest in the subject matter
- Set work at the appropriate level and encourage high student performance, consistent with ability
- Use a variety of methods and available teaching aids, aiming to meet the needs of the individual and the group
- Encourage creative and critical thinking and expression of ideas
- Provide feedback that is designed to motivate the students
- Evaluate and record student progress
- Contact parents through written reports and other formal and informal means, as required
- Plan activities to broaden the experience of the learner, as appropriate
- Plan Units of Inquiry and lessons by following IB curriculum framework collaboratively with the PYP Head & Specialist teachers

General Classroom Management
- The teacher should: Use classroom and behavioural management strategies that are positive, structured, consistent, respectful, and responsive to student needs, to build a safe, orderly, inclusive, and positive classroom community
- Utilize an effective approach to behaviour management, time management, classroom organization and appearance, planning, teaching, learning and reporting
- Establish clear guidelines and expectations for students
- Ensure that effective classroom routines are established and followed
- Encourage students to develop good work habits, neatness and careful use of materials, books, and ICT
- Assist students in developing self-discipline and independence
- Encourage respect among students and between teacher and students
