Job summary

HCLTech in Bangalore is seeking an experienced Product Design Lead to drive the design and development of high-speed interconnect products for Telecom, Networking, Datacenter, Server, Storage, and Industrial applications. You will lead end-to-end product lifecycle from concept through mass production.

The role requires 5–15 years of experience in mechanical design, strong proficiency in Creo/SolidWorks/NX, and expertise in GD&T, tolerance analysis, and materials selection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 5–15 years of product design experience with exposure to connector design and high-speed interconnect products.
• Proficiency in Creo, SolidWorks, or NX; strong GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, and FEA.
• Experience with electrical and electronic products is a plus.
• Experience driving NPI/NPD programs from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical connector products and high-speed interconnect solutions.
• Translate customer and industry requirements into innovative product designs.
• Collaborate with Signal Integrity, Mechanical Integrity, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
• Perform GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Drive DFM, DFA, DFMA, prototyping, tooling, qualification, and production readiness activities.
• Support NPI/NPD programs from concept through mass production.
• Develop test plans, technical documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The role involves driving the complete product lifecycle, from concept and validation through production launch and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design and development of mechanical connector products and high-speed interconnect solutions.
2. Translate customer and industry requirements into innovative product designs.
3. Collaborate with Signal Integrity, Mechanical Integrity, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
4. Perform GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
5. Drive DFM, DFA, DFMA, prototyping, tooling, qualification, and production readiness activities.
6. Support NPI/NPD programs from concept through mass production.
7. Develop test plans, technical documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
   

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in Creo, SolidWorks, or NX. Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, and FEA.

• Experience with stamping, molding, tooling, plating, copper alloys, and engineering plastics.
• Experience driving NPI/NPD programs from concept to production.
