Responsibilities:
- Develop manufacturing processes according to global engineering codes and standards.
- Good knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
- Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions. Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of acceptable methods and judgment.
- Provides technical direction to drafters, designers, technicians and less experienced engineers as directed.
- Contacts counterparts in other disciplines, supplier/client representatives and project field personnel when directed, to either gather or give information.
- Design, control, and implement electrical systems and products.
- Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time.
- Define customer needs and requirements.
- Performs assignments, which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for an engineering discipline within a global business unit.
- Basic skills in oral and written communication.
- Performs electrical discipline work which involves the preparation, interpretation, or review of calculations, specifications, electrical layout plans including lighting and grounding, investigations, surveys, structures, systems or equipment with relatively few complex features.
- Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL) experience.
- Equipment design and development.
- System design, including concept sketches and layouts.
- Testing of materials.
- Guide and organize manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation and testing to assure confirmation with specifications, codes and customer requisites.
- Preparation of specifications and design calculations.
- Reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data by other engineers or by suppliers.
- Preparation or review of engineering studies and reports.
- Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer-aided engineering (CAE)/computer-aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems.
- Experience in preparing technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions and vendor print reviews for various electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of SPEL for preparation of load list, MCC schedule, etc.
- Experience in various electrical layouts like grounding, raceways and lighting.
- Transmission and distribution of electrical energy and telecommunication.
- Knowledge of Building Power Management which includes controlling and monitoring of Building’s mechanical and electrical equipment such as HVAC, lighting, power systems, fire systems, access control and security systems.
- Review of 3D Model in S3D and Autodesk Revit using SPR or Navisworks and be a stakeholder in 30%, 50% and 90% Model Reviews with Clients, Vendors and Sub Contractors.
- Knowledge of project controls within discipline.
- Preparation or review of material quantity estimates.
- Uses engineering computer-aided design/computer-aided engineering (CAD/CAE) tools.
- Prepares letters for replies to vendor correspondence.
- Monitors project controls within discipline.
- Reviews design documents of equipment manufacturers or subcontractors of a moderate degree of complexity and prepare comments & recommendations.
- Assists in the preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders.
- Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon directness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
- Broad progressive relevant work experience of over 6 years in basic & detailed engineering preferably in an EPC industry for large industrial plants, power projects, utilities, process plants.
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
- Receives technical and administrative supervision from an Engineering Supervisor.
