Job summary

ACKO Technology & Services Private Limited seeks an experienced Core Medical Underwriter to blend clinical risk assessment with high-quality customer calls. You will act as the final medical decision authority, interpreting cardiac tests and explaining underwriting outcomes with empathy and clarity.

The role requires MBBS/BDS with MCI registration and 3+ years in health insurance underwriting, with strong ECG/2D Echo/TMT interpretation skills and meticulous documentation practices.

Qualifications

• MBBS or BDS with valid Medical Council registration.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in health insurance underwriting or medical adjudication.
• Proven mastery in evaluating laboratory reports and diagnostic profiles (ECG, 2D Echo, TMT).
• Excellent verbal communication, customer-centric call handling qualities, and active listening skills.
• High attention to detail in a fast-paced, digital-native environment.

Responsibilities

• Medical Underwriting: Evaluate health applications, customer medical history, and clinical documentation to perform comprehensive medical risk assessments.
• Case Decisioning: Review cases post-PPMC and determine underwriting outcomes including standard acceptance, loading, exclusions, postponement, or decline.
• Cardiac Interpretation: Demonstrate specialized capability in interpreting advanced cardiac investigations, including ECG, 2D Echo, and TMT.
• Customer Calling & Quality: Conduct high-quality Tele-Medical Evaluations and clearly explain complex reproposals, loadings, or requirements to customers.
• Compliance & Service: Maintain high standards of documentation accuracy, ensure strict compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines, and deliver choices within SLAs.
