Job summary

Medanta is seeking an experienced GM/AVP - Project Finance to lead financial planning and reporting for new hospital construction and CapEx initiatives across its network in India.

The role requires strong ERP proficiency (SAP/Oracle), expertise in financial modelling, and deep knowledge of Ind AS and regulatory requirements. Travel may be required across states to support project milestones.

Qualifications

• CA, MBA in Finance or equivalent qualification.
• 12+ years of project or corporate finance experience (healthcare/infrastructure preferred).
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/others).
• Expertise in financial modelling, CapEx accounting, and project cash flow management.
• Familiar with Indian regulatory frameworks (Ind AS, GST, Companies Act).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project financial planning, budgets, forecasts, and models for new hospital/clinic construction.
• Monitor CapEx, track expenditures, and highlight variances against budgets.
• Utilise ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/others) for project accounting, procurement, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Ind AS, GST, Labour Cess and healthcare regulations.
• Coordinate with Head of Strategy, project teams, auditors, and senior management to align financial goals with milestones.
• Support financing decisions, prepare investment proposals, and manage board/committee approvals.
• Prepare board presentations and present to senior stakeholders to facilitate fast decisions.
• Develop and streamline SOPs, policies, and procedures.
• Review and deliver MIS reports and dashboards for CEO reviews.
• Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Job Description: GM/AVP - Project Finance (Corporate role)

Position Overview

The role will Lead financial planning, monitoring, and reporting for new hospital unit construction projects and capital expenditure (CapEx) improvement initiatives across Medanta hospitals and clinics in India. The role requires strong financial acumen, ERP proficiency, and experience in managing large-scale healthcare infrastructure investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Project financial planning: Develop detailed budgets, forecasts, and financial models for new hospital/clinic construction and CapEx projects (along with business leaders/project teams).
• CapEx monitoring: Track project expenditures, ensure adherence to approved budgets, and highlight variances.
• ERP integration: Utilize ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/others) for project accounting, procurement, and reporting.
• Compliance management: Ensure compliance with Ind AS, Companies Act, GST, Labour Cess and healthcare-specific regulations.
• Stakeholder coordination: Collaborate with Head of Strategy, Head of Medanta Projects, project teams, contractors, auditors, and senior management to align financial goals with operational milestones.
• Funding and approvals: Support financing decisions, prepare investment proposals, and manage board/committee approvals.
• Board presentations and Senior Stakeholder management: Preparing presentation material and acting as presenter in senior stakeholder meetings to enable clear understanding and fast decision-making.
• Process Excellence: Developing & streamlining SOP’s, Policies & Procedures
• Reporting and MIS: Review and deliver structured MIS reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and CEO reviews.
• Risk management: Identify financial risks in project execution and propose mitigation strategies.

Required Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA (Finance), or equivalent professional qualification.
• Min 12 yrs of experience in project finance or corporate finance, preferably in healthcare or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/others).
• Expertise in financial modelling, CapEx accounting, and project cash flow management.
• Familiarity with Indian regulatory frameworks (Ind AS, GST, Companies Act).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Preferred (not mandatory) Attributes

• Experience in healthcare sector projects (hospitals, clinics, diagnostics).
• Exposure to publically listed entities, medium to large sized and/or investor driven organisations.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and operations teams.
• Strong presentation skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and budgeting tools.

Location

Gurugram/Noida/NCR (though the role may require travel to project sites across multiple states).
