Job summary

Maier+Vidorno GmbH seeks a Head of Global Procurement in Bangalore to establish and lead the India Procurement team and to transform local purchasing into a globally integrated function.

You will own the global sourcing strategy, identify and qualify suppliers, negotiate contracts, optimize costs, manage inventory, and ensure timely material availability across locations while collaborating with cross-functional and international stakeholders.

POSITION SUMMARY

The role involves establishing and leading the India Procurement team
and transforming local purchasing into a globally integrated
procurement function. Key responsibilities include global sourcing,
supplier identification and development, negotiations, contract
execution, cost optimization, inventory management, and ensuring
quality and timely material availability across international locations.
The position also requires implementing global procurement processes,
driving digitalization and continuous improvement, and collaborating
with cross-functional and international stakeholders.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Objective of the position:

• –Establishing and leading the local Procurement team in India. Present
  team size is 5 headcount including Purchase officer and Supplier Quality
  Engineer.
• – Transformation of purchasing from a location-based system to global
  procurement, incorporating the client’s global setup.
• – Full ownership and accountability for the Group’s global sourcing
  strategy and execution — supplier identification, qualification,
  negotiation, and commodity sourcing decisions across all client’s Group
  locations, not limited to the India entity.
• – Implementation of the procurement strategy, specifically with regards
  Organisation
  Cross-group cooperation
  Establishment and further development of the supplier network
• – Optimisation of material costs, stock value and volume, taking into
  account the required quality.
• – Support the local business with procurement expertise, solutionoriented
  thinking, and strong communication.
• – Establishing and guaranteeing supplier relationships based on
  partnership (price, quality, deadlines, flexibility, problem solving).
• -Active collaboration in the global procurement team
• -Active participation in the implementation of the group-wide
  procurement strategy.
• -Establishment and expansion of the supplier network, including the
  corresponding supplier management: selection, assessment,
  negotiation, maintenance of the supplier evaluation system.
• – Building bridges to other departments, especially along crossdepartmental
  processes, and actively contributing to the improvement
  of business processes.
• – Active inventory management. Ensuring the timely flow of materials.
• – Supporting employees in determining requirements, capacity and cost
  planning, warehouse management, master data maintenance
• – Advising and supporting sales, development, project managers and
  other departments in procurement-related
• – Active participation in development projects and consideration of cost
  aspects.
• – Management of projects and working groups in procurement,
  participation in cross-departmental projects.
