Job summary

Qualifications

• B.Pharm or M.Pharma or M.Sc. in relevant field.
• 15+ years of pharma/manufacturing plant operations experience.
• Strong end-to-end manufacturing operations understanding and cross-functional coordination.
• Experience working with senior management and multiple functional heads.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall operational performance of the manufacturing plant across functions.
• Coordinate Production, QA, QC, Engineering, Warehouse, PPIC, HR, EHS and other support functions.
• Review KPIs, productivity, quality, compliance, cost and timelines with functional heads.
• Identify gaps, bottlenecks and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure cross-functional coordination for smooth plant functioning.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead Operations Excellence across the manufacturing operations. The incumbent will oversee and monitor the overall functioning of the plant by coordinating with various functional heads and ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, productivity and timely execution of business objectives.

The position will have overall oversight of plant operations but will not be directly responsible for day-to-day activities of Production, QA, QC, HR or other individual functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall operational performance of the manufacturing plant across all functions.
• Monitor coordination and performance of Production, QA, QC, Engineering, Warehouse, PPIC, HR, EHS and other support functions.
• Review operational KPIs, productivity, quality, compliance, cost and timelines with respective functional heads.
• Identify operational gaps, bottlenecks and areas for improvement and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure effective cross-functional coordination for smooth plant functioning.
• Review and track departmental targets, action plans and management priorities.
• Prepare and present MIS, operational dashboards and performance reports to senior management.
• Monitor implementation of management decisions and ensure timely closure of critical action points.
• Drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency and process excellence across the plant.
• Identify risks impacting production, quality, supply, compliance or business continuity and escalation them to management.
• Conduct periodic operational reviews with functional heads and follow up on agreed action plans.
• Support management in strategic planning, capacity utilization, resource optimization and operational decision-making.
• Ensure that different departments work in alignment with overall organizational objectives.

Important Scope of the Role

This is an oversight and Operations Excellence role. The incumbent will not be directly involved in the routine functioning or execution of Production, QA, QC, HR or other individual departments. Instead, the candidate will monitor, review, coordinate and report the overall operational performance to senior management.

Candidate Profile

• B.Pharm / M.Pharma , M.Sc. or equivalent relevant technical qualification.
• 15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/manufacturing plant operations.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end manufacturing operations and cross-functional plant functioning.
• Experience working with multiple functional heads and senior management.
• Strong analytical, coordination, review and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to identify operational gaps and drive corrective/improvement initiatives.
• Strong MIS, reporting and presentation skills.
• Should have exposure to GMP/compliance-driven manufacturing environments.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
• Candidates with experience in Plant Head / Operations Head / Operations Excellence / Site Operations / Manufacturing Operations oversight roles would be preferred.
