Our client is seeking a strategic procurement leader who can bring structure, foresight, and commercial acumen to a fast-paced business that depends on efficient sourcing and high-value supplier partnerships.
The Head of Procurement will own the company’s purchasing strategy across all categories, including housekeeping machines, engineering tools, fit-out materials, and other operational equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring cost-effectiveness, tax and freight optimization, timely deliveries, and quality compliance while elevating procurement practices to world-class standards.
The role demands strategic thinking coupled with hands-on operational excellence, a sharp negotiation style, and a deep understanding of procurement in Facility Management, Real Estate, or Engineering industries.
Define and execute the Procurement Strategy aligned with company growth and cost-efficiency goals.
Lead and mentor the procurement team, setting KPIs and fostering a high-performance culture.
Manage vendor development, vendor rating systems, and long-term strategic partnerships.
Oversee all purchasing activities, from RFQ to contract closure, ensuring adherence to budget and timelines.
Manage tendering processes, including drafting tender documents, bid evaluation, and award recommendations.
Ensure tax implications, freight optimization, and customs clearance are factored into procurement decisions.
Negotiate contracts for the best value without compromising quality or delivery commitments.
Implement procurement policies in line with statutory requirements and corporate governance standards.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and central regulations related to material procurement.
Drive transparent and auditable procurement processes with SAP-based reporting and tracking.
Educational: Degree in Engineering or Commerce with Material Management qualification (mandatory).
Professional:
Minimum 12–18 years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Industry background in Facility Management, Real Estate, or Engineering.
Proven expertise in managing strategic sourcing, tenders, contracts, and budgets.
Hands-on experience with SAP Procurement Modules (MM, SRM).
Strong vendor negotiation skills and understanding of taxation & freight logistics in India.
Strategic thinker with commercial acumen and strong analytical skills.
Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and contract drafting capabilities.
