Michael Page partners with a well-established international insurance group to lead the India Global Capability Centre's finance function. The Head of Finance will join the India leadership team and shape finance governance, reporting, and strategic decision support.

Qualifications

  • Qualified CA with significant post-qualification experience.
  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience including senior leadership roles.
  • Experience leading finance functions within multinational or global organisations.
  • Experience managing statutory reporting, audits, taxation, compliance and governance.
  • Proven success in building high-performing finance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all finance operations, governance, and financial management for the India GCC.
  • Drive accurate and timely financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, and controllership activities.
  • Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, corporate tax, and Companies Act obligations.
  • Establish strong internal controls, risk management framework, and governance processes.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance management activities.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and decision support to senior leadership, Board and global stakeholders.
  • Manage treasury, cash flow planning, banking relationships, payroll accounting, AP/AR, and outsourced finance.
  • Drive finance transformation through process standardisation, automation, digitisation, and operating model optimisation.

Job Description

The Head of Finance will serve as a key member of the India leadership team and will be responsible for establishing and strengthening the Finance function across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading all aspects of finance operations, governance, and financial management for the India GCC.
  • Driving accurate and timely financial reporting, month-end and year-end close processes, and controllership activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with Indian statutory, tax, regulatory, and audit requirements including GST, TDS, corporate tax, and Companies Act obligations.
  • Establishing a strong internal control environment, risk management framework, and governance processes.
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance management activities.
  • Providing strategic financial insights and decision support to senior leadership, Board members, and global stakeholders.
  • Managing treasury, cash flow planning, banking relationships, payroll accounting, AP/AR, and outsourced finance activities.
  • Driving finance transformation initiatives including process standardisation, automation, digitisation, and operating model optimisation.
The Successful Applicant
Experience
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Typically 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior finance leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading finance functions within multinational, matrixed, or global organisations.
  • Experience managing statutory financial reporting, audits, taxation, compliance, and governance.
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing finance teams.
Technical Expertise
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Indian GAAP and statutory accounting requirements
    • Direct and indirect taxation (GST, TDS, Corporate Tax)
    • Financial controls, risk management, and governance
    • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
    • Audit and regulatory compliance
    • Treasury and cash management
Preferred Experience
  • Insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Global Capability Centres (GCCs), captive centres, or shared services environments.
  • Finance transformation, process improvement, and operating model redesign initiatives.
  • Managing outsourced finance operations and external professional service providers.
  • Working with global finance teams and Board-level stakeholders.
Education
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
  • Additional professional finance certifications would be advantageous.
