Role: Head of Research (Indian Equity Markets)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Head of Research to lead our equity research function, with a strong focus on the Indian equity markets. The role requires deep expertise in fundamental analysis, proven experience across buy-side and sell-side research, and the ability to lead and mentor a high-performing research team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the equity research function covering Indian markets
• Drive high-quality fundamental research, including financial modeling, valuation, and sector analysis
• Generate and validate investment ideas and actionable stock recommendations
• Supervise and mentor a team of research analysts, ensuring quality and consistency of output
• Collaborate with investment/advisory teams to align research insights with portfolio strategies
• Track macroeconomic trends, policy changes, and sector developments impacting markets
• Review research reports, investment notes, and client deliverables
• Build and maintain relationships with institutional clients, management teams, and industry experts
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards

Key Requirements

• Strong experience in Indian equity markets with exposure to both buy-side and sell-side research
• Proven track record in fundamental analysis and stock picking
• Prior experience in leading or managing research teams
• Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation techniques, and market cycles
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to take ownership and drive research strategy

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA (Finance), CFA, or equivalent qualification
• Experience in PMS / AIF / Asset Management / Brokerage firms
