CloudifyOps seeks a Head of Engineering who can couple architect-level depth with strategic ownership to shape Cloud, DevOps and AI capabilities.

Qualifications

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Engineering - a role built for someone who can operate at both ends of the spectrum: architect-level technical depth and director-level strategic ownership. You will partner closely with the Sr. Director of Technology and CTO to shape and build CloudifyOps’s technology capability across Cloud, DevOps and AI, while staying hands-on enough to make (and unmake) technical decisions on live client engagements. This is not a purely advisory seat - you’re expected to be on the ground: in technology and delivery reviews, in architecture calls, and in the room when we decide what capability to build next.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Technical Direction

• Define and evolve CloudifyOps’s Cloud, DevOps and AI/ML architecture strategy - infrastructure design, containerization, CI/CD, MLOps pipelines and disaster recovery - in partnership with the Sr. Director - Technology and CTO.
• Set technical direction for major client engagements and internal products (MIXIMO, Lens, DevOptymize), ensuring architecture choices hold up under scale, security and cost constraints.
• Champion DevSecOps and MLOps practices, embedding security and governance across the delivery lifecycle.
• Track emerging cloud and AI technologies and translate that into build-vs-buy and capability-investment recommendations for leadership.

Hands-On Technical Project Delivery

• Stay embedded in select high-stakes or strategic client engagements - architecture reviews, PoCs and troubleshooting - rather than overseeing delivery from a distance.
• Own resolution of complex, cross-team technical issues (SRE, Cloud, AI/ML) that require architect-level judgment, keeping critical KPIs within error budget.
• Build and continuously refine the technical standards, frameworks and playbooks (IaC, observability, cost optimization, AI/ML pipelines) that delivery teams use day to day.

Capability & Team Building

• Own the technical hiring bar for Cloud, DevOps and AI roles - define role requirements, run technical interviews/assessments, and make the final call on technical fit, while HR/TA runs the hiring process end to end.
• Drive learning & development for the engineering organization - identify skill gaps against where the market and our service lines are heading, and build or sponsor upskilling paths (cloud certifications, AI/ML tooling, architecture practice).
• Mentor Architects, Leads and senior engineers; act as a technical escalation point and growth sounding board across the Solutions Engineering track.
• Contribute to workforce and staffing planning - advise on team structure, capacity and role design as service lines evolve.

Stakeholder & Business Outcomes

• Partner with the CTO and Business/Sales leadership to align technical capability-building with growth priorities and client commitments.
• Represent technology in cross-functional strategy discussions - pricing, proposals and go-to-market conversations that need architect-level technical grounding.
• Provide pre-sales technical leadership on strategic deals - solution design, RFP/proposal input, and technical PoCs or demonstrations that need architect-level credibility with prospective clients.
• Track and report on delivery health, technical debt and capability metrics to leadership.

What we are looking for

• 15+ years in cloud/DevOps engineering with demonstrated architect-level ownership of large-scale, multi-cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) systems; hands-on exposure to AI/ML infrastructure or MLOps is a strong plus.
• Proven experience leading CI/CD and DevSecOps initiatives (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, cloud-native pipelines) at scale.
• Strong grounding in container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), IaC (Terraform, Ansible), observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog/ELK) and cloud security/compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS).
• Experience building or scaling AI/ML operations - model deployment pipelines, monitoring, and infrastructure for generative AI or ML workloads - is highly desirable given CloudifyOps AI transformation focus.
• Track record of technical people leadership: hiring, mentoring and building engineering capability - not just delivering projects.
• Comfortable operating both strategically (roadmaps, capability planning, stakeholder alignment) and tactically (in the weeds on a live incident or architecture review).
• Comfortable supporting pre-sales efforts - solutioning, technical PoCs, and proposal/RFP input for prospective and existing clients.
• Excellent communication skills - equally credible in a client architecture review and a leadership capability- planning conversation.
• Prior exposure to working in a fast-growing IT services organization is an advantage.
