Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Vice President – Head of Core Client Reporting in Pune, India, operating on an EMEA shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM IST). The role leads the Core Client Reporting function for a global investment manager, overseeing reporting, automation, governance, and stakeholder alignment.

The incumbent will drive platform transformations with SimCorp Coric and Vermilion, manage a regional team, and partner with Finance, Risk, and Technology to deliver accurate, timely client insights.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in investment operations, institutional client reporting, performance reporting, or data management.

Role Summary

The Vice President, Head of Core Client Reporting is a senior operational leadership position responsible for directing the strategic and day-to-day operations of the Core Client Reporting function at a leading global investment management firm in Pune, India. Operating on an EMEA shift, this role oversees team management, client deliverable execution, process automation, data governance, operational risk controls, and global stakeholder alignment.

• Required Experience: 10+ years in financial services, specifically within institutional client reporting or investment operations

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or related field

Core Responsibilities

Functional & People Leadership

• Lead, coach, and manage the regional Core Client Reporting team, fostering an accountable, inclusive, and high-performance culture.

• Direct daily, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reporting outputs across asset classes (Fixed Income, Equity, Alternatives, Multi-Asset, and Derivatives).

• Set strategies for talent development, cross-training, succession planning, recruitment, and resource management.

Operational Excellence & Governance

• Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for client reporting, making real-time, time-critical operational decisions on complex reporting issues.

• Maintain rigorous quality controls, exception management frameworks, standard operating procedures, and audit-ready documentation to mitigate operational risk.

• Direct root-cause analysis and remediation for escalated reporting issues to prevent recurrence.

Strategic & Platform Transformation

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reporting standardization, workflow simplification, data quality, and operational cost reduction.

• Represent Global Operations in driving platform migrations, specifically translating legacy reporting functionality into modern SimCorp-driven processes.

• Chair global steering committee meetings to align technology roadmaps, prioritize infrastructure enhancements, and track platform upgrades.

Stakeholder & Commercial Partnership

• Build strong cross-functional relationships with Portfolio Management, Client Service, Product Development, Technology, Compliance, and Risk teams across global offices.

• Optimize team capacity, operational workflows, and resource utilization to maximize commercial impact and lower total operating costs.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

Professional Experience

• 10+ years of progressive experience in investment operations, institutional client reporting, performance reporting, or data management.

• Proven track record of managing operational teams and multi-workstream functions in a global delivery model.

• Comprehensive knowledge of institutional client reporting lifecycles, data dependencies, portfolio holdings, transactions, benchmarks, and performance metrics.

• Demonstrated experience leading workflow redesign, process automation, or enterprise software migration projects.

Technical & Platform Expertise

• Reporting Tools: Prior experience with SimCorp Coric or Vermilion reporting platforms is strongly preferred.

• Data Querying: Working knowledge of SQL or data-querying tools to investigate data anomalies, validate pipeline feeds, and collaborate effectively with IT engineering teams.

• Core Applications: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with familiarity in workflow oversight and data visualization software.
