Job summary

The Corporate Institute in Chennai seeks an experienced Chartered Accountant to lead internal audits across its NBFC/HFC operations from the head office.

You will manage a 15–20 person team, engage with senior management and the Audit Committee, and ensure compliance with RBI risk-based audit requirements.

Travel to branches will be required occasionally to complete audits, and the role demands strong analytical oversight.

Qualifications

• Hands-on internal audit experience in NBFCs/HFCs/banks.
• Experience auditing loan products such as Home Loan, LAP, MSME.
• Experience in managing senior teams and directors on committees.
• Strong understanding of RBI risk-based internal audit framework and regulatory compliance.
• willingness to travel to branches for audits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Individual needs to take full accountability for internal audits of all the Functions of the HFC and its Subsidiary (NBFC).
• Stakeholder engagement and contribution to concise and insightful reporting to the Audit Committee of the Board.
• Periodic discussion with all functional heads (including Top Management) regarding audit observations and concerns.
• Managing a team of 15 – 20 professionals in ensuring timely audit of branches and HO functions.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Qualification: Chartered Accountant.
• Experience: 12 – 17 years in NBFC / HFC / Small Finance Bank / Bank.
• Job Location: Chennai (Head Office).
• Any certification in Internal Audit will be an added advantage.

COMPETENCIES EXPECTED:

• Hands-on experience in Internal Audit with NBFCs / Small Finance Banks / Banks.
• Experience in handling audit of loan products viz., Home Loan, LAP, MSME etc.
• Experience in team handling as well as Senior Management (including Directors in the Committees / Board).
• Strong understanding of Risk based Internal Audit framework of RBI, Regulatory compliances and risk management practices.
• Willing to travel to branches for internal audit, as and when required.
