Job summary

Adani Group in Chennai is seeking a senior maintenance leader for breakdown, preventive and predictive maintenance across container terminal equipment. You will drive CAPEX proposals, manage spares, and oversee safety and budgeting while steering projects to completion.

The role requires 12–18 years in mechanical/electrical maintenance with cranes, PLC, VVVF drives and SCADA know‑how; focus on uptime, vendor development, and staff development within a busy port environment.

Qualifications

• Educational background: BE in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics.
• Experience: 12–18 years in maintenance leadership roles.
• Industry: Port/container terminal maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage breakdown, preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Prepare CAPEX proposals and budgets including spare parts inventory.
• Plan internal projects for container terminal equipment and Ro-Ro operations.
• Standardize spares, vendor development and cost optimization.
• Ensure IMS/Safety compliance during maintenance activities.
• Monitor equipment availability and maintenance costs; improve uptime.
• Train and develop maintenance staff for peak performance.

Purpose/Objective

• Responsible for managing Breakdown , Preventive , Predictive Maintenance, preparing Capex proposals, new projects execution & monitoring , managing spare parts, technology management, budgeting, safety and employee development.

Key Responsibilities of Role

• Review of mechanical and electrical predictive / preventive maintenance status of Container Terminal equipment, facilities and civil construction.
• Plan and implement internal projects related to container & Ro-Ro terminal - Manage and control inventory costs of spare parts and consumables within budget.
• Review electricity / fuel / spare parts consumption patterns and take necessary corrective actions - Standardization and indigenization of spares and vendor development to ensure better availability, cost optimization and inventory control of Container Terminal equipment - Study latest developments in the Port technologies, material handling systems and maintenance techniques / equipment and explore their applications in port.
• Analyze electrical and mechanical breakdowns and take corrective actions in order to reduce down time.
• Ensure adherence to IMS / Safety by employees during maintenance activities.
• Ensure 99% availability of equipment with optimal maintenance cost.
• Prepare and monitor manpower, revenue and Capex Budget.
• Ensure continuous training and development of people for better efficiency and individual growth.
