Job summary

Talent Analytica is seeking a seasoned Instrumentation and Electrical leader for its chemical plant in Rajasthan. The role requires 14 to 20 years of managing Electrical & Instrumentation functions, ensuring uninterrupted power distribution and timely project execution.

You will review equipment, upgrade protection systems, and drive energy conservation while maintaining strict safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Engineer degree in Instrumentation or equivalent with extensive plant experience.
• Proven ability to lead electrical & instrumentation teams in a chemical manufacturing setup.
• Strong knowledge of safety, HSE, and regulatory compliance practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Electrical & Instrumentation teams to ensure reliable power distribution and control systems.
• Plan and review maintenance schedules for DG sets, switchgear, and protection systems.
• Drive energy conservation initiatives and cost control in plant facilities.
• Ensure compliance with statuary standards, IMS/HSE norms, and PESO/Weighing regs.
• Develop and implement SOPs and training to improve MTBF and uptime.
• Mentor subordinates and build domain expertise within the team.

Job description

Uninterrupted power distribution to all Plants

• To review the emerging requirement and lead the team to make schemes to provide power by modification in existing system or plan for new resources.
• To review availability of Power switchgear and Backup Power sources in Healthy Condition.
• To review schedule maintenance of DG sets and their effective running.
• To review power & HSD reports and analysis as per their distribution and minimize variations.
• To implement and review regular up gradation and modification of switchgear and protection system.

Up-gradation of Process Control & Electrical Systems & instruments to avoid obsolescence challenges

• Find out the latest developments and compatibility of new products.
• Selection for the latest systems & instruments.
• Phase wise up-gradation of DCS systems and instruments with minimal plant interruptions.
• Considering the tentative future requirements.
• To implement and review regular up gradation and modification of switchgear and protection system.

Effective Project implementation

• To review and co-ordinate with various deptt. to complete the projects within time and cost limits.
• To guide and review the progress of Inst. & Elec. tasks to achieve committed completion time and cost.
• To plan and integrate and addition of new electrical system with existing system.
• To recruit and review manpower as per planning and requirement.

Ensure Compliance of Statuary, HSE, IMS Standards, Norms of Electrical, BARC, W&M & Ministry of Communications

• Ensure timely reports to BARC as per schedule
• Stamping of Weighing Systems form Weights and Measure Department
• License renewal of Talkie -Talkies form Ministry of Communication
• To review and ensue Pop Testing of Safety valves as per PESO rules.
• To ensure effective implementation and effectiveness of Indian Electrical Rules, IMS standards, HSE and other statuary compliance.
• To develop specifications and standards for Electrical equipments.
• To ensure proper implementation of safe practices in operation and shut down time.

Ensure Electrical equipment, Plants and Manpower Safety in Plant

• To ensure effective use of electrical safety equipments and measures for safety of equipment.
• To ensure addition/modification in existing standards and SOPs and their effective implementation
• Suggestion to provide the automation in the different plants.
• To ensure uses of PPE during job execution.
• Time to time counseling and ensure the required safety trainings for individuals.

Energy conservation measures Implementations

• To lead in identification of energy saving projects and monitoring for effective implementation.
• To upgrade electrical system to minimize energy losses in static and lighting equipment.
• To ensure implement / replace energy efficient equipments.

Effective cost control

• To review and take decisions on expenses.
• To facilitate effective planning of spares and inventory control.
• To ensure effective utilization of resources.
• More thrust on in-house repairing.
• Optimization of Instruments in terms of quality and life

Improve MTBF of all plants, utilities

• To lead Instrumentation and Electrical teams to minimize Instruments, Electrical Equipment and power distribution system downtime by focusing on finding the root causing of the problem with help of TQM tools.
• To review and guide for spare parts management and availability of mandatory spares.
• To review and improve the implementation of autonomous, corrective and Preventive Maintenance effectively with the help of EAM and TQM tools.
• To lead the team in making standards and SOPs.

Subordinate Development

• Providing opportunity to take more responsibility and decisions.
• To identify, plan domain and managerial training to individuals in order to develop the new skills.
• To ensure Internal Training as per schedule and review of effectiveness through Skill Matrix Evaluation.
• To lead the team in making customized domain training module to provide in-depth knowledge of equipments & Inst.
• Providing training even process people for DCS as trainer

Preferred candidate profile

Ideal candidate must a B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation with 14-20 years of experience in managing the Electrical & Instrumentation function in a Chemical manufacturing plant
