Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy in Bengaluru seeks an experienced EHS professional to develop and execute an EHS strategy aligned with corporate objectives and prioritised operations. You will drive excellence through performance monitoring and risk management.

Implement ISO 45001 based systems, conduct HIRA and JSA for steel processing, and oversee safe practices for coil handling, crane operations, and slitting lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in safety/engineering with exposure to EHS practices.
• Experience implementing ISO 45001 and managing site compliance.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment techniques and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the EHS strategy in line with corporate priorities.
• Lead HIRA and JSA activities for steel processing operations.
• Oversee safe shop-floor practices for coil handling, cranes, forklifts, and production lines.
• Ensure LOTO, confined space and fall protection procedures are followed.
• Promote PPE usage and environmental compliance including pollution control and waste management.

Job description

Develop and execute the EHS strategy aligned with corporate objectives and operational priorities.

Drive EHS excellence through performance monitoring, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Embed EHS values across departments and build accountability at all organizational levels.

Implement and maintain EHS management systems in line with ISO 45001 and legal standards.

Conduct Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) and Job Safety

Analysis (JSA) for steel processing operations.

Oversee safe work practices for coil handling, crane operations, forklifts, slitting and shearing lines.

Enforce LockoutTagout (LOTO), confined space, and work-at-height safety procedures.

Promote correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure shop-floor safety discipline.

Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and sustainability standards.

Manage pollution control systems, waste disposal, and recycling of scrap and lubricants.

Liaise with Pollution Control Boards for permits, reporting, and inspections.

Lead energy conservation and resource efficiency initiatives.
