Job Summary
The Head of Corporate Affairs will be responsible for developing and leading the Company's government relations, institutional engagement, regulatory coordination, and strategic liaisoning initiatives at both Central and State Government levels.
The role will involve building and maintaining strong professional relationships with key government and institutional stakeholders, monitoring policy and regulatory developments, supporting government-driven business opportunities, facilitating issue resolution, and providing strategic inputs to senior management on matters related to the renewable energy ecosystem.
The incumbent will work closely with the Business Heads, Strategy Team, Tendering Team, Project Teams, Finance, Legal, and Senior Leadership to ensure effective institutional engagement and support the Company's business growth and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Government Liaisoning & Institutional Relations
- Develop and maintain strong institutional relationships with key Central and State Government authorities.
- Represent the Company before relevant ministries, departments, government agencies, PSUs, and other institutional stakeholders.
- Establish structured engagement with organizations and authorities including:
- Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE)
- Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI)
- SJVN and other Government‑owned renewable energy organizations
- State Renewable Energy Development Agencies
- DISCOMs
- State Energy Departments
- Government and PSU organizations
- Build and maintain professional relationships with senior government officials and key decision‑makers.
- Represent the Company's interests in relevant institutional meetings, consultations, and forums.
2. Central Government & PSU Engagement
- Develop and maintain engagement with Central Government Ministries, renewable energy agencies, and Public Sector Undertakings.
- Track relevant government schemes, programs, policy announcements, and institutional developments.
- Identify potential business opportunities arising from Central Government and PSU initiatives.
- Support strategic engagement with organizations such as:
- MNRE
- SECI
- SJVN
- NTPC
- Other relevant PSUs and government organizations
- Coordinate with internal Business Development and Strategy teams to align institutional opportunities with business objectives.
3. State Government Liaisoning
- Develop and maintain relationships with State Government Departments and Renewable Energy Agencies.
- Coordinate with:
- State Renewable Energy Development Agencies
- State Energy Departments
- DISCOMs
- State Government Authorities
- Relevant regulatory and administrative bodies
- Support the Company's expansion and business development activities across different states.
- Monitor state‑level developments related to renewable energy and solar projects.
- Provide strategic inputs regarding state‑wise business opportunities and institutional requirements.
4. Regulatory Affairs & Policy Intelligence
- Monitor developments related to renewable energy policies, regulations, schemes, guidelines, and government initiatives.
- Track regulatory developments impacting:
- Solar Rooftop Projects
- Ground‑Mounted Solar Projects
- Utility‑Scale Solar
- Open Access
- C&I Solar Projects
- Government and PSU Projects
- Analyze the potential impact of policy and regulatory changes on the Company's business.
- Prepare periodic Regulatory & Policy Intelligence Reports for senior management.
- Highlight key risks, opportunities, and strategic implications arising from regulatory developments.
- Coordinate with internal Legal, Strategy, Business, and Project teams on regulatory matters.
5. Government Tender & Strategic Business Support
- Provide government and institutional support for strategic business opportunities.
- Participate in relevant pre‑bid consultations and stakeholder discussions.
- Support the Tendering and Business Development teams in understanding institutional requirements.
- Review government tender conditions from a liaisoning and regulatory perspective.
- Identify potential policy, compliance, and institutional risks associated with government projects.
- Provide strategic inputs for Go / No-Go decisions where government, regulatory, or institutional factors are critical.
- Support senior leadership in strategic engagement related to major government and PSU opportunities.
6. Institutional Issue Resolution & Escalation
- Support the resolution of critical institutional and government‑related matters.
- Facilitate escalation and engagement for issues involving:
- Grid connectivity
- Government approvals
- Regulatory interpretations
- Subsidy‑related matters
- Government receivables
- DISCOM coordination
- Project‑level institutional bottlenecks
- Engage at an appropriate senior institutional level for strategic issue resolution.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely closure of critical matters.
- Maintain appropriate records and communication related to significant government interactions.
