Job summary

Logitech in Chennai is seeking a Hardware Lab Engineer to join the Audio Embedded Software Engineering group. You will work with embedded software and validation teams, handling lab equipment, test fixtures, and microscope-assisted assembly.

Strong soldering skills and hands-on hardware prototyping are essential. You will collaborate across electrical, acoustic, and DSP teams to drive hardware validation early in product design, performing RF and electrical tests and delivering reliable test

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience developing, debugging, repairing, and supporting consumer electronics products.
  • Strong soldering and desoldering skills with fine-pitch rework and microscope-assisted assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and rework PCBs, troubleshoot embedded products, and debug hardware issues.
  • Modify test fixtures and support test automation circuitry and fixtures for embedded development.
  • Develop physical prototypes and wiring based on engineering designs.
  • Coordinate validation tasks with the embedded engineering team and execute RF and electrical tests.
  • Collaborate with embedded software team and provide timely feedback to help project success.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the embedded software and validation teams to support engineering development in the early stages of product design. You will be expected to work confidently with lab equipment, create and modify test fixtures, and handle0201 componentsandfine-pitch integrated circuitsunder a microscope. Excellent soldering and desoldering skills are required.


You will also work with cross-functional teams across the organization, including electrical, acoustic, and digital signal processing engineers worldwide.   • Assemble and rework PCBAs, troubleshoot embedded products, and debug hardware issues.
  • Modify test fixtures as needed
  • Support the design and development of test automation circuitry and test
  • fixtures for embedded product development and testing.
  • Develop and build physical prototypes based on engineering designs, including assembling components and wiring.
  • Participate in the initial phases of product design, coordinating validation tasks in conjunction with the embedded engineering team. Implement the plan to deliver world class experiences.
  • Execute RF and electrical tests as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with the embedded software development team,
  • providing timely and constructive feedback, and taking proactive initiatives to
  • contribute to the overall success of the project.
Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experience to our team:

  • 3+ years of experience in hardware development, debugging, validation, PCBA rework, and component-level replacement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience in developing, debugging, repairing, and supporting consumer electronics products.
  • Strong soldering and desoldering skills, including fine‑pitch rework and microscope‑assisted assembly/rework.
  • Solid experience using standard lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and related test instruments.
  • Experience building, modifying, and troubleshooting embedded hardware prototypes, fixtures, and test setups.
  • Experience executing validation tests for hardware/software interfaces and supporting product qualification activities.
  • Ability to create and maintain clear documentation for test procedures, validation results, and debug findings.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across cross‑functional engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits, mechanical assemblies, and embedded systems.
  • Hands‑on experience working with precision tools, lab equipment, and hardware rework processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and drive practical solutions.
  • Familiarity with software and tools used for test automation, data analysis, and documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, developers, and technicians in a cross‑functional environment.
  • High attention to detail in test execution, data collection, and reporting.
  • Understanding of audio and wireless technologies is a plus.
  • Ability to proactively identify project risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks, and work with the team to resolve them.
Work Model:

This role is based in our Chennai office and requires regular on‑site work due to the hands‑on nature of hardware development, prototype assembly, rework, and validation activities.
