Job summary

Happiest Minds Technologies in Bengaluru (India) is seeking an experienced Java/J2EE backend engineer to design and implement scalable microservices and distributed systems. You will own critical architectural decisions, drive performance improvements, and mentor cross-functional teams across product and engineering.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Java development, strong Spring expertise, and a track record of leading architecture reviews and technology evaluations.

Qualifications

• 5–11+ years of Java/J2EE development experience.
• Extensive Spring ecosystem experience.
• Core Java 17+ and concurrency expertise.
• Proven microservices and distributed systems design.
• Strong RESTful APIs, API gateways, and service mesh knowledge.
• Hibernate/JPA ORM experience.
• SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra.
• Messaging systems Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ.
• Design Patterns, SOLID principles, and DDD knowledge.
• AI coding assistants to develop React/TypeScript components.
• Lead architecture reviews and technical decision-making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and engineering leaders.
• Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, frameworks, and tools.

• 5 to 11 Years and above of experience in Java/J2EE application development.
• Extensive experience with Spring ecosystem ,Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security.
• Strong expertise in Core Java 17 and above, JVM internals, concurrency, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience designing Microservices and Distributed Systems.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, API gateways, and service mesh.
• Hands on experience with ORM frameworks Hibernate, JPA
• Deep understanding of SQL & NoSQL databases PostgreSQL , Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.
• Experience with Messaging systems Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ
• Strong grasp of Design Patterns, SOLID principles, and Domain Driven Design, DDD
• Proficiency with AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to write, refactor and debug React/TypeScript components
