Role Summary

As a Guidewire developer at PwC, you will specialise in developing and customising applications using the Guidewire platform, which provides insurance companies with tools for policy administration, claims management, and billing. Your responsibilities include designing, coding, and testing software solutions that meet the specific needs of insurance organisations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, customise and maintain Guidewire applications, including BillingCenter, PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and ContactManager.
• Lead requirement gathering sessions, conduct analysis, develop functional specifications, and perform business walkthroughs.
• Create and update user stories, develop process flows, UI mock ups, and data mappings based on Guidewire recommended user stories.
• Interact with clients to understand business contexts, anticipate needs, and deliver solutions that align with overall strategy.
• Collaborate with cross‑border and diverse teams, initiate open conversations with stakeholders, and build trust.
• Uphold and reinforce professional and technical standards, the Firm's code of conduct, and independence requirements.
• Support project workflows, budgets, billing, and collections, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery.
• Mentor and upskill junior resources, manage utilisation, and facilitate professional development.
• Contribute to internal and external knowledge sharing through white papers, blogs, training, and presentations.
• Use critical thinking to break down complex concepts and apply a balanced approach to problem solving.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Demonstrates expert abilities with Guidewire Suite of applications on premises and SaaS.
• Proven success leading all aspects of complex engagements within the Guidewire product suite.
• Expertise in ITIL processes, including Incident and Problem management, SLA tracking, and contracting.
• Advanced solution strategy skills and ability to act as a trusted advisor within the Guidewire context.
• Strong analytical and presentation skills; able to prepare and present complex written and verbal materials.
• Excellent self‑awareness, reflection and improvement mindset.
• Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, Splunk, SQL, and other relevant tools.
• Bachelor's degree and/or five years of equivalent experience.
• Effective communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
