Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the following qualifications as per the Gujarat Maritime Board Notification No. NO.GMB/HR/RR/21/PART-3/1734 dated 19/04/2025:

• A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering obtained from Technical Examination Board, Gujarat, or any recognized University/Institution.
• Basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification (General) Rules, 1967.
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

Note: Diploma in Automobile is also recognized as an equivalent qualification as per the Ports and Transport Department letter dated 08/09/2026.

Age Limit

As of 09/11/2026, candidates must be at least 18 years old and not more than 33 years old. Age relaxations are applicable as per government rules:

• Female candidates of General Category: 5 years relaxation (Maximum 38 years).
• Male candidates of Reserved Categories: 5 years relaxation (Maximum 38 years).
• Female candidates of Reserved Categories: 10 years relaxation (Maximum 43 years).
• Male candidates with Disabilities (General Category): 10 years relaxation (Maximum 43 years).
• Female candidates with Disabilities (General Category): 15 years relaxation (Maximum 45 years).
• Male candidates with Disabilities (Reserved Categories): 15 years relaxation (Maximum 45 years).
• Female candidates with Disabilities (Reserved Categories): 20 years relaxation (Maximum 45 years).
