Job summary

Sinocom Trading Limited is seeking a Group Financial Controller (Remote India) to lead accounting, reporting and financial control for the group. You will own the Hong Kong entity’s books, ensure IFRS alignment, and provide support to Nigeria and Dubai entities as needed.

This full-time, senior role requires strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with local accountants in each country.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce with a professional accounting qualification preferred
• 510 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of IFRS; multi-entity accounting experience in trading/import-export businesses

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete books for Hong Kong entity and perform all accounting entries
• Prepare monthly reporting pack: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variances, and KPIs
• Ensure month-end close, internal controls, and compliance with IFRS and local regulations
• Coordinate with local accountants and auditors in HK, Nigeria, and Dubai as needed
• Support annual audits and statutory filings; maintain audit trails

JOB TITLE

Group Financial Controller (Remote India) for SME

ROLE SUMMARY

You will be responsible for the complete accounting, reporting, and financial control of an international trading company based in Hong Kong with 2 sister entities.Accountant, Hong Kong (with regional support)

This role will take primary ownership of the Hong Kong company's accounting and financial reporting, provide ongoing support to the Nigeria entity's accounting function, and offer occasional/as-needed assistance to the Dubai entity.

This is a full-time, senior accounting role requiring strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with local accountants in each country.

You will ensure that all financial data is accurate, timely, and aligned with a unified global accounting standard and take full ownership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Full Accounting primarily for Hong Kong EntityMaintain complete books of accountsRecord all purchase invoices, sales invoices, expenses, and journal entriesPerform daily and monthly bank reconciliationsManage accounts receivable and accounts payableTrack inventory movements and ensure accurate COGS calculationsPrepare monthly accruals and prepaymentsAnnual budget preparation, rolling forecasts and update on budget varianceProvide management with financial KPIs (such as monthly management pack with commentary, performance vs budget, working capital KPIs, entity-level summaries for the MD to be evolving over time)
2. Monthly Financial ReportingPrepare a complete monthly reporting pack including:Profit & Loss StatementBalance SheetCash Flow Statement including cash flow forecastingWorking Capital ManagementIntercompany fundingForeign Currency ExposureAged Receivables & PayablesInventory movement reportBank reconciliation summaryNotes on variances and unusual itemsProvide consolidated reporting
3. Financial Control & Quality AssuranceEnsure all entries follow the unified chart of accountsMaintain accounting accuracy and consistency across all entitiesImplement and follow month-end closing proceduresDesign and maintain the internal controls frameworkEnsure timely reporting and financial discipline
4. Coordination With Local AccountantsWork closely with the auditor in Hong KongLiaise with bank RMs as and when required (approx. 3-4 times annually)Provide all required data, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
5. Dubai & Nigeria for monthly reporting
6. Compliance & Audit SupportSupport annual audits and statutory filingsMaintain proper documentation and audit trailsEnsure compliance with IFRS and local regulations (with support from local firms)Must own the calendar to submit filings in timely manner for tax and local compliance
7. Systems & Process ManagementWork within a cloud-based accounting system TallyMaintain clean, organized digital recordsImprove accounting processes and internal controlsImplement automation tools for efficiency (invoice capture, bank feeds, etc.)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Technical Skills

Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce, and a professional accounting qualification is strongly preferred510 years of accounting experienceStrong knowledge of IFRSExperience with multi-entity accountingExperience in trading/import-export businesses (preferred)Strong understanding of inventory accountingProficiency in Tally very important.
