ABOUT THE TEAM:

The Financial Reporting & Control (FRC) team is responsible for the day to day bookkeeping and financial reporting of Tide’s India entities. The team ensures the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the India entities’ financial results, working closely with FP&A, Treasury, Risk and the wider business to support Tide’s continued growth.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Group Financial Controller within the FRC team, you will lead a team of Financial Controllers responsible for the financial results of Tide’s India’s entities. You will play a central role in partnering with business and product teams to support the development of new products and the design of robust back-end accounting processes, while driving forward Tide’s finance transformation agenda - including the automation of financial processes and the deployment of AI across the finance team.

Given the scale of Tide’s high-growth insurance intermediary and lending businesses, strong technical expertise in lending accounting and provisioning under IFRS 9 is essential. You will lead the response to external auditors and tax authorities, and regularly prepare and present financial information to senior stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

Financial reporting & control

  • Lead the day-to-day bookkeeping, month-end close and financial reporting for Tide’s India entities;

  • Own the accuracy and integrity of the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow for assigned entities, ensuring robust review and analytical challenge;

  • Ensure strong balance sheet substantiation, reconciliation and control processes across the team; and

  • Oversee preparation of statutory accounts and support the annual financial statements process.

Business partnering & new product support

  • Partner closely with business and product teams to support the development and launch of new products;

  • Establish and embed robust back-end accounting processes and controls for new products and business lines; and

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to commercial stakeholders, providing accounting input into product design and structuring.

Finance transformation & automation

  • Drive the automation of financial processes across the FRC team, identifying opportunities to streamline reporting and control activities;

  • Support the deployment of AI tools and capabilities within the finance team; and

  • Champion best practice and continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.

Lending & insurance accounting

  • Provide technical accounting leadership across Tide’s high-growth lending and insurance businesses;

  • Own the accounting and provisioning for lending products under IFRS 9, ensuring compliance with accounting standards; and

  • Partner with Risk and Product teams on the accounting treatment of new lending and insurance propositions.

Audit & tax

  • Lead the response to external auditors, managing the year-end audit process for India entities;

  • Lead engagement with tax authorities, ensuring timely and accurate responses to enquiries; and

  • Maintain strong working relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.

Stakeholder management & leadership

  • Prepare and present financial results, technical accounting papers and management information to senior stakeholders;

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Financial Controllers, building team capability and technical expertise; and

  • Represent FRC on cross-functional projects and initiatives.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Tide is seeking an experienced and technically strong Group Financial Controller. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience;

  • Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in financial reporting and control, ideally within financial services or a high-growth technology/fintech environment;

  • Strong technical knowledge of audit, accounting and provisioning;

  • Proven experience leading and developing a team of finance professionals;

  • Track record of business partnering with product and commercial teams, particularly in supporting new product launches;

  • Experience driving finance transformation, process automation and/or adoption of AI within a finance function;

  • Experience leading the response to external audit and tax authority enquiries;

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership;

  • Familiar with Indian GAAP and/or IFRS reporting requirements; and
