Job summary

Airbus India Training Centre Private Limited in Gurugram seeks a Ground Instructor to deliver initial and recurrent aeronautical knowledge training for pilots, supporting SFI & TRI and ensuring compliance with flight training manuals.

The role requires at least 3 years as a Ground Instructor and current approvals for Airbus A320 Family, with an engineering degree (Physics/Math). This is a permanent on-site position in a JV between Airbus and Air India.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as approved Ground Instructor.
• Approvals for Technical and Performance on Airbus A320 Family is mandatory and should be current.
• Engineering graduate or graduate degree with Physics and/or Mathematics from a recognized Board/University.
• Qualified pilot/flight navigator/flight engineer/flight dispatcher/ATCO with at least 2 years aviation experience accepted.
• Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with at least 3 years of AME experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial ground training in aeronautical knowledge areas for type ratings or as per flight training manuals.
• Provide recurrent ground training for pilots and Ground Instructors as required.
• Provide ground training for SFI & TRI.
• Train Ground Instructors to conduct initial, recurrent or transition training per FCTP as directed by CGI/Head of Flight Training.
• Assist in development of training programs.
• Validate training manuals and course materials used in flight training.
• Communicate issues or achievements to CGI/Head of Flight Training promptly.
• Carry out any other task as directed by CGI/Head of Flight Training.

The position is for the newly formed joint venture company between Airbus & Air India. The joint venture company will be called Airbus India Training Centre (AITC)

Delivering on its commitment to ‘Skill India’, Airbus has entered into a 50:50 joint venture with the Tata-owned Air India to launch a world-class pilot training centre in Gurugram, Haryana. The JV Training Centre will offer A320 and A350 flight training to some 5,000 new pilots over 10 years and is due to be operational starting early 2025.

This joint venture, named as Airbus India training centre (AITC) will be a strategically critical project for both organizations, with an ambition to form a world leading Aviation Academy in South Asia that could positively impact operations and safety standards of both Airbus and Air India operators in the region.

Job Description

• To provide initial ground training, in aeronautical knowledge areas required for the issuance of a type rating or any other training as per the Airbus/Airbus affiliates Flight training manuals.
• To provide recurrent ground training in aeronautical knowledge areas, as required for recurrent training of pilots and Ground Instructors
• To provide ground training for SFI & TRI
• To train Ground Instructors to conduct initial, recurrent or transition training in accordance with the FCTP as directed by the CGI/Head of Flight Training.
• To assist in the development of various training programs
• Checks the validation of training manuals and other course materials used in various flight training courses
• To communicate issues of concern, or of exceptional achievement, regarding crew member trainees’ performance to the CGI/Head of Flight Training in a timely manner
• To carry out any other task as directed by CGI/Head of Flight Training or his designate.

Work Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience as approved Ground Instructor

Approvals for Technical and Performance on Airbus A320 Family is mandatory and should be current

Shall be an engineering graduate or holding a graduate degree, with Physics and/ or Mathematics from a recognized Board/ University;

Or

Should have been a qualified pilot/flight navigator/flight engineer/flight dispatcher/ATCO, with minimum two (2) years of work experience in aviation;

Or

Should have been an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with a minimum of three (03) years of work experience as an AME.
