Job description

Job Purpose: To design and administer IT infrastructure efficiently and effectively and support the company’s users to leverage IT in day-to-day operations.

Job Context & Major Challenges

Job Context: Grasilene Division was set up in 1977 to manufacture Viscose Staple Fibre with a capacity of 12 Tons per day, which was gradually increased to 240 Tons per day.

  • Managing digital projects under a single governance process, making enterprise-wide integration a challenge.
  • Investing in transforming digital operations.
  • Speedy redressal of grievances.
  • Designing solutions that enable business processes without the support of external agencies.
  • Integrating various Stand-alone Applications as per functional users’ requirements.
  • Maintaining pace with global advancements by migrating to ERP – SAP.
  • Providing latest facilities like LAN, WAN, E-mailing, and Internet.
  • Strengthening the usage of Information Technology through various technologies and applications.

Major Challenges

  • Delivering proper solutions for growing users’ needs and aligning existing systems with changing business scenarios.
  • Reduction of manual processes and non-value adding activities through new secured and automated Workflow Applications.
  • Implementation of new concepts like eProcurement, eBusiness, etc.
  • Ensuring high uptime of IT assets in a corrosive environment.
  • Retaining skilled manpower due to high demand in the market.

KRA1: IT Maintenance

  • Provide technical support for all departments and processes.
  • Manage all aspects of information and functional systems.
  • Manage communications and relationships between IT and other departments.
  • Provide help desk and technical services assistance.
  • Design, develop, implement, and coordinate IT policies and procedures.
  • Ensure security of IT assets and data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain an IT roadmap.

KRA2: IT Budget Management

  • Manage annual IT budget and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee all phases of projects from conception to completion.
  • Serve as technical lead for system implementation projects.
  • Manage multiple cloud-based systems.

KRA3: Change Management

  • Advise management about technological changes needed.
  • Enable a continuous improvement culture.
  • Facilitate inter and intra unit learning.
  • Identify opportunities for joint improvement projects.

  • Identify, plan, and implement key CAPEX projects.

  • Propose department P&B and update progress.
