  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Recent graduate or up to 1 year of internship/industrial experience.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering fundamentals.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers in executing continuous improvement projects across the manufacturing line.
  • Monitor defects, yields, and quality metrics to identify improvements.
  • Assist Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and process improvements to boost productivity and reduce waste.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for defects and customer quality issues.
  • Support CAPA activities including documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Assist in maintaining QMS procedures and manufacturing standards.
  • Support validation and verification activities for processes and equipment.
  • Help prepare SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Coordinate calibration activities and records.
  • Assist in incoming inspection planning and quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support daily operations.
  • Participate in line troubleshooting to improve uptime and efficiency.
  • Follow EHS policies to maintain a safe workplace.

Job Description Summary

The Graduate Engineer Trainee – Manufacturing Process Engineering (Continuous Improvement) will support manufacturing process engineering and quality improvement initiatives within the CT manufacturing facility. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, the trainee will assist in improving product quality by monitoring customer and internal manufacturing rejections, tracking manufacturing yields, and supporting the investigation and closure of quality issues arising from the production line and customer returns. The role also provides hands‑on exposure to Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, CAPA, non‑conformance investigations, Quality Management Systems (QMS), and cross‑functional collaboration to enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and operational excellence.

  • Assist in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis for manufacturing defects, non‑conformances (NC), and customer quality issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities, including documentation and follow‑up actions.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and manufacturing standards.
  • Support Validation and Verification (V&V) activities for manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Help prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials.
  • Coordinate equipment calibration activities and maintain calibration records.
  • Assist in incoming inspection planning and quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production to support daily manufacturing operations.
  • Participate in production line troubleshooting and support initiatives to improve equipment uptime and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Follow Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and contribute to a safe working environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering, , or a related engineering discipline.
  • Recent graduate or up to 1 year of relevant internship or industrial experience.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or quality concepts through academic projects or internships is preferred.
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment on a 6-day work week.
Desired Characteristics
  • Internship or academic project experience in manufacturing, production, or quality engineering.
  • Exposure to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Lean, or Kaizen methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement tools.
  • Eagerness to learn in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation.
  • Positive attitude with strong ownership and collaboration skills.
