ENGAGEMENT OF GRADUATE APPRENTICES UNDER APPRENTICES ACT, 1961 FOR FY 2025-26

Eligibility and Qualifications
- Age: 20-28 years
- Age Relaxation: 10 years
- Educational Qualification: A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
- Candidates must have passed Graduation not earlier than 01.01.2022 and not later than 01.09.2025 (both days inclusive).
- Test of local language: Candidates with documented evidence of studying the specified local language in 10th or 12th standard are exempt from the local language test. Others will undergo a local language test as part of the selection process during Document Verification.
- Total Posts: 33 for Visually Impaired
Stipend, Tenure and Training
- Period of Apprenticeship Training: 12 months
- Stipend: Rs. 15,000 per month (including any Govt. of India subsidy, if applicable)
- Government share of stipend: Rs. 4,500 (credited via DBT to the apprentice’s bank account as per extant guidelines)
- The Canara Bank will pay Rs. 10,500 per month into the apprentice’s account; the balance is government share as noted above.
- Place of Training: On-the-job training at select branches as per course/curriculum
- Apprentices are not eligible for other allowances/benefits.
Eligibility Restrictions
- Candidates with training or job experience of one or more years after completion of their qualification are not eligible for engagement as an Apprentice.
- Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Visual Impairment category. PwBD reservation applicable as per RPwD Act 2016 and DoPT guidelines. Details on eligibility for VI category provided in the notification.
Selection Process and Documentation
- Candidate registration on the National Apprenticeship Portal (NATS) at www.nats.education.gov.in is required before applying for apprenticeship in the Bank.
- Candidates must have 100% complete profile on the Apprenticeship portal to be eligible to apply.
- Selected candidates will be issued a digital apprenticeship contract through the Apprenticeship portal.
- Candidates called for Document Verification will undergo the local language test if not exempted.
- After selection, documents may be requested as per the Bank’s process.
Application Process
- How to Apply: Online from 23.09.2025 to 12.10.2025 via the Canara Bank Careers portal and the link to the Apprenticeship from the Bank’s site.
- Registration on the Apprenticeship portal (www.nats.education.gov.in) is required before applying for training seats; enrollment ID must be kept for future reference.
- Candidate must mention enrollment ID generated after applying on NATS portal when applying for training seats.
- Minimum qualifying marks: not less than 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in 12th Std (HSC/10+2) or Diploma examinations. Fractions are ignored (e.g., 59.99% is not eligible).
