Volvo Group invites applications for a Graduate Apprentice Trainee – Supply Chain in Hosakote, Karnataka. This 1-year OJT under NATS targets fresh engineering graduates or diploma holders to learn end-to-end logistics, planning, procurement, and scheduling of aftermarket parts within the SO&T DC Bangalore.

You will gain hands-on exposure to materials management, supplier coordination, inventory control, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to parts availability and service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of supply chain concepts desirable.
• Proficient in Excel, Python, SQL, and Power BI.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to digital transformation initiatives in materials control and procurement.
• Support day-to-day materials handling, storage and distribution activities.
• Assist in material planning and replenishment to ensure parts availability.
• Coordinate with suppliers on order status, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate material and inventory records in systems and trackers.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Logistics and Warehouse teams to optimize end-to-end material flow.

The Graduate Apprentice – Material Controller role within TTI SO&T DC Bangalore is designed for fresh graduates/newcomers who are keen to build a strong foundation in end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations within the Service Market Supply Chain.

This role focuses on learning and supporting Planning, Procurement, and Scheduling of Aftermarket Parts for both Group and Non-Group suppliers. The apprentice will gain hands‑on exposure to Materials Management, Supplier Coordination, inventory control, and cross‑functional collaboration, while contributing to timely parts availability and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to digital transformation initiatives, including:
  • Automation of manual material controller processes
  • Standardization of reports and dashboards
  • Use of Power Apps / low-code tools where applicable
• Support the Material Control team in day-to-day activities related to procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials.
• Assist in material planning and replenishment activities to ensure parts availability in line with demand.
• Coordinate with suppliers to follow up on order status, lead times, and delivery schedules under guidance.
• Participate in maintaining accurate material and inventory records in systems and trackers.
• Support material tracking, reporting, and data analysis using digital tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Procurement, Logistics, and Warehouse operations to understand end-to-end material flow.
• Learn and follow standard operating procedures, compliance requirements, and safety guidelines.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and learn Lean / VPS basics.
• Demonstrate a strong learning attitude and gradually take ownership of assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding or academic exposure to supply chain or logistics concepts is desirable.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
