Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. invites 2025 B.E./B.Tech fresh graduates to join a 1-year Graduate Apprentice Trainee program in Operations & Logistics at our Oragadam plant.

This hands-on opportunity lets you work with experienced engineers on real plant operations. You will assist in equipment installation, testing, safety, and documentation while learning to update drawings and maintain learning logs under supervision.

Qualifications

• Fresh 2025 B.E./B.Tech graduates in Mechanical/Automobile/Production/Industrial Engineering.
• Provisional certificate mandatory at joining.
• Willing to work on shop floor and field activities.
• Based in Chennai or willing to relocate to Oragadam.
• Candidates who have NOT done any apprenticeship or GAT in any other company.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers during equipment installation, piping layout, and field activities.
• Observe alignment, instrumentation checks, and mechanical assembly methods.
• Prepare tools, materials, and work areas before installation.
• Support routine testing tasks including pressure tests, leak checks, and measurements.
• Ensure PPE usage and follow safety guidelines during field activities.
• Record field observations and update as-built drawings under supervision.
• Maintain learning logs and training attendance.
• Coordinate with vendor teams for tools and consumables.

Kickstart your engineering career with one of India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers! Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV) is offering a 1-year Graduate Apprentice Trainee (GAT) program in our Operations & Logistics function at our state-of-the-art Oragadam plant. This is a hands-on learning opportunity where you will work alongside experienced engineers on real plant operations.

What You Will Do

• Assist engineers and technicians during equipment installation, piping layout, and field activities
• Observe and learn alignment, basic instrumentation checks, and mechanical assembly methods
• Help prepare tools, materials, and work areas before installation begins
• Support routine tasks during testing — pressure tests, leak checks, and basic measurements
• Ensure PPE usage and follow safety guidelines during all field activities
• Assist in setting up barricading, signage, and safe access paths
• Participate in toolbox talks to understand site hazards and safety procedures
• Report any unsafe condition to technician or engineer immediately
• Assist technician in guiding contractor manpower for simple tasks
• Support vendor teams in arranging work platforms, tools, and consumables
• Communicate basic updates to technician or engineer as required

Documentation & Reporting

• Help record daily material movement — pipes, fittings, tools
• Maintain simple checklists under supervision
• Record field observations, measurements, and simple inspection notes
• Assist in updating as-built drawings by marking field changes
• Maintain learning logs, training attendance, and skill development records
