Job description

Gujarat State Forest Development Corporation Limited (GSFDC) was established in August 1976 and registered under the Companies Act of 1956. In 1979, the trade of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) was nationalized in Gujarat, and GSFDC was given the responsibility of managing it. This decision aimed to implement the state’s policy of safeguarding the economic interests of Scheduled Tribes (STs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), and other economically disadvantaged sections of the society while justifying its corporate status.

It’s important to note that GSFDC does not receive any grants or budgetary support from the government. Instead, the corporation operates independently to fulfill its mission and responsibilities in the management of Minor Forest Produce, contributing to the welfare and economic empowerment of marginalized communities in Gujarat.

Job Post: Ayurvedic Pharmacist

Qualification:

• A degree in Ayurveda or Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Siddha or Unani system of medicine recognized by Central or State Government authorities.
• Diploma in Ayurveda, Siddha or Unani system from a State Government or Central Government-recognized institution.
• Graduation in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Chemistry, or Botany from a Central Government-recognized university with a minimum of two years of experience in Ayurvedic, Siddha, or Unani drug manufacturing.
• Registered Vaid or Hakim with a minimum of four years of experience in Siddha or Unani drug manufacturing.
• Qualification as a Pharmacist in Ayurvedic (including Siddha) or Unani systems with at least eight years of experience in drug manufacturing, as recognized by the Central Government.

Job Location: Vadodara

Duties:

1. Ensure production in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Act.
2. Quality check and make necessary improvements in the production unit’s products to maximize the value of secondary forest products.
3. Develop new patents and proprietary products, obtaining necessary approvals for production and sale.
4. Prepare herbal medicines and secure approval for their production and sale.
5. Assist in the production of approved Ayurvedic herbs.
6. Maintain a clean and hygienic production area, providing training to workers for the same.
7. Coordinate with food and drug regulatory authorities for production licenses.
8. Provide various training programs to manufacturing unit employees.
9. Offer guidance for procuring new machines and equipment.
10. Ensure product quality standards are met and maintain sample records.
11. Maintain all product-related records.

Experience:

Candidates from Scheduled Tribes/Scheduled Castes and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes will have a 3-year relaxation. At least 1 year of experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing in a recognized Ayurvedic Pharmacy is required, and the qualifying marks should be at least 50%. Preference is given to candidates with experience in Co-operative Pharmacy, Limited Company, and Corporation.

Computer Knowledge:

Basic computer knowledge required.

Language Skills:

Proficiency in Gujarati, Hindi, and Sanskrit is necessary.

Salary:

Rs. 25,000/- monthly (negotiable)
