Program Overview & About the Job
The Google Software Application Development Apprenticeship is a learning and development program lasting 12 months. Apprentices join in person at their assigned in-office location and participate full‑time (~40 hours weekly). The program blends work experience with a Google team and external training.
You will spend 20% of your time in a tailored training program and 80% on projects with Google teams to gain hands‑on experience.
As an Apprentice, you will develop skills for an entry‑level career in software development, gaining experience in coding, development, testing, and project management, and applying problem‑solving skills to real‑life challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Coding Compliance: learn and follow coding standards and ensure compliance with quality measures.
- Software Development Support: support your team in the development of software based on agreed projects and platforms.
- Full‑Lifecycle Contribution: contribute to implementation, unit testing, and integration to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
- Applied Learning: apply knowledge gained in the apprenticeship to real‑world applications.
- Quality & Testing Guidelines: ensure code is tested in accordance with team or manager guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Academic Status: Not currently enrolled in an academic program.
- Work Experience: Less than 1 year in software application development.
- Technical Skills: Programming experience in at least one coding language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Google Workspace or similar productivity suite.
- Critical thinking and strong problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to learn programming language based on project requirements.
- Ability to work independently and within a team framework.
- Navigate multiple ambiguous tasks and competing priorities while seeking help/advice.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, self‑motivated, positive attitude, excellent customer service capabilities.
- Enthusiasm and passion for new technologies, demonstrated through personal projects and commitment to learning new skills.
Mandatory Government Mandates for Applicants
- Must possess an active mobile number linked with Aadhaar and an active personal email ID.
- Must possess an Aadhaar‑seeded bank account.
- May undergo a maximum of two apprenticeship trainings; the second training shall not be in the same trade.
- If the contract of apprenticeship is terminated for the apprentice’s failure to carry out the terms, the apprentice shall not be entitled to enter into another apprenticeship contract under the Act with any other employer.

Salary & Stipend Expectations
Google Apprenticeships are fully paid opportunities. For the March 2027 cohort, software apprentices in India receive a competitive monthly stipend/salary averaging ₹4,50,000 to ₹5,50,000 INR per annum, alongside standard Google employee perks, learning resources, and medical coverage.
