EY is seeking a Proofpoint-focused L3 Operations Engineer in India. The role functions as the subject-matter expert for Proofpoint environments, handling advanced troubleshooting, platform optimization, configuration management, security enhancements, integrations, and engineering support.

You will own complex incidents, problem management, and platform improvements. The candidate will design and implement security policies, DLP and TAP rules, and encryption policies, while configuring SPF,

Qualificações

• 6–10 years of cybersecurity or messaging security experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on Proofpoint administration and engineering.
• Experience in enterprise-scale email security environments.

Responsabilidades

• Advanced troubleshooting of email delivery, security incidents, and platform issues.
• Platform engineering and administration including security policies, DLP, TAP, and encryption policies.
• SecurityEnhancements: optimise threat detection and reduce false positives.
• Integrations with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SIEM, Splunk, Sentinel, and threat intel platforms.
• Lead problem & change management; own CAB reviews and long-term remediation.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and runbooks.

Role Summary

The Proofpoint L3 Operations Engineer serves as the technical SME for the Proofpoint environment and is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, platform optimisation, configuration management, security enhancements, integrations, and engineering support. The role owns complex incidents, problem management, and platform improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Troubleshooting

• Resolve complex email delivery and security incidents.
• Perform deep-dive analysis of:
• Mail flow failures
• TAP detections
• DLP events
• Email authentication failures
• Encryption issues
• Analyse SMTP transactions, logs, headers, and threat intelligence data.

Platform Engineering & Administration

• Design and implement:
• Security policies
• DLP rules
• TAP policies
• Encryption policies
• Threat detection tuning
• Configure:
• SPF
• DKIM
• DMARC
• Secure Email Relay
• MX Routing
• Support tenant expansion and implementation initiatives.

Security Enhancements

• Optimise threat detection and false-positive reduction.
• Evaluate emerging email threats and protection strategies.
• Provide security recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.

Integrations

• Integrate Proofpoint with:

Problem & Change Management

• Lead root cause analysis activities.

• Develop operational runbooks and knowledge articles.
• Provide escalation support during major incidents.
