Job summary

Boston Consulting Group is seeking a Global Sector Senior Manager – Payments & Fintech. You will partner with the Global Sector Leader to shape strategic agenda, drive investments, and coordinate governance across the sector.

You will analyze performance, coordinate initiatives, and enable cross‑functional collaboration across Vantage, Marketing, and other teams. You will lead complex programs in a global, matrixed environment, influencing senior stakeholders and delivering decisive actions for

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of relevant experience in consulting, strategy, business management, operations, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and manage complex programs in a global, matrixed environment.
• Strong business judgment and analytical capabilities, with the ability to translate data and insights into action.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and build credibility across diverse teams and functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing materials for senior leadership audiences.
• Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and drive execution independently.
• High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive business, people, and organizational information.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and related collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Define, prioritise, and execute the Payments & Fintech sector strategy with leadership.

What You’ll Do

At the intersection of finance, technology, and global commerce, BCG's Payments & Fintech sector partners with the networks, processors, and digital challengers collectively rewriting the rules of financial services – making it one of the most dynamic growth vectors in our Financial Institutions Practice Area (FIPA). As the Global Sector Senior Manager – Payments & Fintech, you will serve as a strategic partner to the Global Payments & Fintech Sector Leader and leadership team, helping shape and execute the sector’s strategic agenda.

Through business analysis, program leadership, and stakeholder coordination, you will help strengthen the sector’s commercial performance, investment decisions, operational effectiveness, and community engagement.

• Partner with the Global Sector Leader and sector leadership team to define, prioritise, and execute the Payments & Fintech sector strategy
• Monitor sector performance, commercial activity, pipeline trends and key business metrics, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision making.
• Drive strategic initiatives that advance sector priorities and business outcomes across the global business.
• Manage sector investment priorities and Innovation Fund planning, including budget tracking, governance, and performance monitoring.
• Establish and coordinate operating rhythms, leadership forums, and governance processes that enable effective execution and decision‑making.
• Collaborate with Marketing and affiliated teams to support publications, events, communications, and sector visibility initiatives; and contribute ad‑hoc to content and knowledge development in partnership with internal projects and BCG Vantage.
• Lead affiliation and engagement activities that strengthen collaboration, connectivity, and knowledge sharing across the global Payments & Fintech community.
• Collaborate closely with the broader Financial Institutions Management & Operations team to deliver strategic projects and support the continued growth of the business.

Who You’ll Work With

You will be part of the Financial Institutions Practice Area Management & Operations team and work closely with the Global Payments & Fintech Sector Leader to help shape and execute the sector’s strategic agenda. You will collaborate with Regional Sector Leaders and other senior stakeholders across the global Financial Institutions business to drive alignment and advance key priorities. You will also partner with colleagues across Vantage, Marketing, and other practice area functions to support sector initiatives, strengthen community engagement, and enable the continued growth of the Payments & Fintech business.
