Job description

Team: Strategic Marketing & Insights, P&PS

Location: Bangalore, Novo Nordisk Global Business Services (GBS), India

Shape the commercial strategy for one of the most anticipated obesity launches in pharmaceutical history — from the engine room that powers it all.

Your new role

You will be the strategic and operational backbone for a major new product launch in Novo Nordisk's obesity portfolio, sitting at the intersection of commercial strategy, brand planning and financial stewardship. Working from GBS Bangalore in close partnership with HQ in Denmark, you will drive launch-readiness workstreams, translate market insights into clear recommendations for senior leaders, and bring process excellence to everything you touch.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
  • Co-developing and stewarding the brand's commercial strategy and brand plan — driving positioning, source of business, segmentation, channel strategy and KPI design through to execution
  • Synthesising primary and secondary market research into structured "problem → insight → so what → action" outputs, resolving strategic dilemmas and converting findings into concrete recommendations
  • Owning the brand's agency-of-record budget end-to-end: AB/RE cycles, PO and vendor management, accrual discipline, variance analysis and monthly burn-rate reporting
  • Building scalable tools, templates and dashboards that standardise planning, tracking and governance routines — reducing manual effort and increasing predictability across the brand team
  • Delivering thought leadership on new product launch across the value chain, independently scoping and completing signature projects that raise the bar on ways of working or strategic clarity
  • Engaging cross-functional partners across commercial, medical affairs, market access and supply to secure alignment and unblock collaboration across geographies and time zones
Your new department

In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream, and maximising portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream. Within Product & Portfolio Strategy, the GBS Strategic Marketing & Projects unit is the engine that supports HQ in shaping and operationalising the commercial agenda for the next wave of obesity assets — including CagriSema, Cagrilintide, Zenagamtide and beyond. You will join a team that combines analytical rigour with commercial instinct, operating with high independence across time zones to deliver launch excellence for assets that will follow Wegovy® and expand access to treatment for millions.

Your Skills & Qualifications
  • Master's degree or above in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, Finance or equivalent, combined with 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience with concrete exposure to brand/marketing strategy, launch readiness or early asset commercialisation
  • Demonstrated track record of running brand or marketing budgets end-to-end, with strong accrual discipline and financial governance
  • Hands‑on experience in process design and continuous improvement — standardising workflows, building trackers/dashboards and embedding governance routines; Lean, Six Sigma or Agile certification is an advantage
  • Proven ability to translate market research and analytics into actionable recommendations for senior audiences, with strong structured and systems thinking
  • Working experience in or with major markets (US/IO preferred) and comfort operating fluently across time zones in a GBS/remote-from-HQ setup; experience in diabetes and/or obesity is a strong plus
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders, cross‑functional partners and external vendors with equal confidence
