Job summary

Sodexo seeks a Global M365 Data Engineer to design, govern and optimize SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Teams across the group. You will work with technical and executive stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable collaboration solutions globally.

Responsibilites include maintaining architecture standards, supporting 46 countries, and driving governance and data security initiatives while leveraging PowerShell and migration tools to streamline deployment.

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience in enterprise Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Global administration of SharePoint Online and Teams across multiple entities.
  • Strong scripting skills with PowerShell and PnP PowerShell; automation experience advantageous.
  • Knowledge of identity, security, and data governance within Microsoft 365.

  • Produce architecture docs, guides, and governance artefacts for continuity.

Job description

We are looking for a Global M365 Data Engineer, reporting to the Productivity & UX AI Product Manager.

This individual is responsible for executing strategies related to M365 collaboration tools, with a primary focus on SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Microsoft Teams across all Group entities. The role plays a key part in designing, governing, and optimizing SharePoint-based collaboration services to improve productivity, information management, and user experience on a global scale.

The Global M365 Data Engineer will work with various audiences ranging from technical teams to executives. We are looking for individuals who are customer-oriented, structured, and passionate about delivering secure, scalable, and user-centric collaboration solutions for employees around the world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and functional expertise on SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams integration, Microsoft 365 Groups, permissions models, site architecture, and content management.
  • Support local IT teams across 46 countries and offshore support teams in deploying, managing, and optimizing SharePoint-based collaboration services.
  • Define and maintain SharePoint architecture standards, including site design, hub structure, information architecture, navigation, metadata, managed properties, sharing, and ownership models.
  • Implement data lifecycle management, storage optimization, archiving and backup solutions, including SharePoint Advanced Management, Microsoft 365 Backup, and Microsoft 365 Archive.
  • Oversee implementation projects to ensure compliance with architecture, security, identity, records management, and data governance standards.
  • Provide security overview and technical references to implement or reinforce directives issued by the Group Security Team.
  • Ensure technical architecture documents (TAD), operational guides, governance standards, and support documentation are up to date.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high service quality, improve platform adoption, reduce operational risk, and standardize SharePoint usage across the organization.
  • Conduct technology watch on SharePoint Online, SharePoint Advanced Management, Microsoft 365 Archive/Backup, OneDrive, Teams-connected sites, and related Microsoft 365 collaboration capabilities.
Required Profile:
Technical expertise
  • 8-10 years of experience.
  • Comprehensive expertise in global administration of Microsoft 365 tenants, including architecture, engineering, governance, and operational management of SharePoint Online and Teams Collaboration.
  • Strong proficiency with SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams-connected sites, Microsoft 365 Groups, permissions, sharing policies, site lifecycle, storage management, and information architecture.
  • Strong expertise in operating SharePoint and Teams migration projects using tools like Quest, ShareGate or Microsoft Migration Manager (Carve-in & Carve-out).
  • Comfortable producing and reviewing technical architecture documentation (Architecture design, API permissions...).
  • Good knowledge of identity, security, compliance, and data governance, including Entra ID, conditional access principles, DLP, sensitivity labelling, retention, audit, eDiscovery, and least-privilege access models.
  • Advanced scripting and automation skills, especially PowerShell and PnP PowerShell; Python or other automation capabilities are a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud storage and content migration approaches, including Azure File Share, Azure Blob Storage, SharePoint migration tooling, and hybrid or legacy content modernization scenarios.

  • Proven ability to operate in a global, complex and regulated enterprise environment with multiple stakeholders and governance bodies.
  • Ability to challenge solution choices constructively and balance user experience, security, compliance and operational sustainability.
  • Experience working with offshore teams, local IT teams, business representatives, security, legal, privacy and enterprise architecture communities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Customer-oriented mindset and ability to understand business needs before proposing a technical solution.
  • High level of autonomy, structured thinking and ability to drive topics from ambiguity to decision.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and build trust with senior stakeholders.
Languages

Fluent English is required, both written and spoken. French is a plus
