Job summary

TJX India is seeking a Global Category Manager to join our APAC Home Office in Hyderabad. You will partner with regional and global teams to build sourcing strategies across multiple spend categories, leading end-to-end initiatives in a fast-paced, off-price retail environment.

You will drive negotiation, supplier selection, and contract execution with cross-functional partners in Human Resources, Professional Services, Facilities Management, and Technology Operations, delivering measurable cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10+ years of indirect strategic sourcing or procurement experience preferably in GCC setup.
• Minimum 2+ years managerial experience in global matrix organization with a track record of enabling high-performing, globally aligned regional teams.
• Direct experience leading end-to-end sourcing and negotiations of Facilities Services, Professional Services, HR, and Technology Operations
• Experience driving category & sourcing strategy, influencing cross functional business partners, global & regional teams both directly and through their teams.

Responsibilities

• Leads the execution of sourcing projects using established strategic sourcing methodologies, tools, and templates to ensure fair, open, and competitive sourcing processes across multiple categories, including Facilities Services, Professional Services, HR, and Technology Operations. Partners with regional and global stakeholders to align business requirements, drive sourcing outcomes, and deliver value. Supports Senior Category Managers in executing high complexity regional and global sourcing initiatives.
• Leads and develops a team of Sr. Category Management Specialists in a matrix management organization.
• Manage the full strategic sourcing cycle, including understanding business demand, supplier identification and selection, risk mitigation strategy, price negotiation, contract "red-lining", planning and management of pipeline of strategic sourcing projects.
• Lead strategy development for assigned sourcing events. Provide support to Senior Category Managers in the development of their regional and global sourcing strategies. Think and act globally to lead and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in the execution of Strategic Sourcing initiatives and the implementation of category strategies.
• Develop effective and trusting relationships with Business Partners to ensure successful project delivery. This includes relationships with senior leadership. Serve as the liaison between global business partners and suppliers to ensure the most effective approach for meeting validated business requirements through the sourcing process.

What you’ll do

The TJX Global Sourcing and Procurement (GS&P) organization is a trusted partner to our myriad of business functions. As a Category Manager supporting TJX India corporate office requirements, you will serve as a trusted business partner to multiple functions across the TJX India organization, including Human Resources, Professional Services, Facilities Management, Technology Operations, and other corporate functions. You will collaborate with local & Global business partners to build relationships across regions, develop and execute sourcing strategies, lead competitive sourcing events, and negotiate commercial agreements across a diverse portfolio of spend categories. By applying strategic sourcing practices and leveraging understanding of our off-price business model, you will deliver value through end to end sourcing support, while flexing seamlessly across multiple business partners, regions and business priorities.

You are a trusted partner who provides value to your business partners through your sourcing expertise and industry knowledge. You will serve in a pivotal role, leading strategic sourcing engagements on regional basis, aligning with regional and global business partners, to enable business initiatives. You’ll be recognized as someone who drives strategy, cost improvement and develops strong relationships across TJX.

• Leads and develops a team of Sr. Category Management Specialists in a matrix management organization.


• Brings in depth knowledge of the GCC (Global Capability Center) landscape, Corporate Services sourcing, and regional supplier market dynamics, with a strong understanding of industry trends, commercial practices, and sourcing opportunities across multiple indirect spend categories.


• Manage the full strategic sourcing cycle, including understanding business demand, supplier identification and selection, risk mitigation strategy, price negotiation, contract \"red-lining\", planning and management of pipeline of strategic sourcing projects.


• Lead strategy development for assigned sourcing events. Provide support to Senior Category Managers in the development of their regional and global sourcing strategies. Think and act globally to lead and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in the execution of Strategic Sourcing initiatives and the implementation of category strategies.

• Participate in the development and execution of contracts and ensuring compliance to TJX Approval Authority Schedule and Audit requirements.


• Develop negotiation strategy and conducts negotiations. Participate in Global Category Management planning for assigned categories establishing solid partnerships with our Global peers and colleagues.


• Identify and execute against opportunities for specification alignment, process improvement, and demand management.


• Support supplier relationship management programs.


• Ensure, in partnership with Global Procurement Operations, a compliant ‘Source-to-Pay’ process is in place for all eligible Business Partner spend.


• Monitor and report category-specific savings and performance metrics.


• Collect and actively challenge current product or service requirements; present new sourcing strategies to drive cost savings; recommend new ways to manage demand through process re-design.

• Ability to analyze data related to spend, supplier performance, and market trends. Ability to recognize trends within spend categories.


• Strong presentation skills, with experience presenting information to senior leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a Global Capability Center


• Master’s degree in supply chain management, Business or related field


• Experience in the retail industry and managing multinational Business Partners and suppliers.

This position reports into the Senior Manager, Global Sourcing & Procurement.
