Job summary

Emerson is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to direct the India organization responsible for material joining product design, development, sustaining engineering and global welding programs. You will ensure capabilities exist to drive Growth and Profitability while maintaining design standards and quality.

You will lead strategy for portfolio management, New Product Development and technology transfer, with strong emphasis on innovation and global collaboration.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of experience with 10+ years in relevant engineering leadership roles.
• BE/ME/MS in Electronics, Software, or related engineering field.
• Knowledge of Computer Science, and principles of business and technology.
• Experience as managerial contributor in Engineering, R&D within a manufacturing enterprise.
• Excellent organizational and written/spoken communication skills; track record in new product development.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies, plans, policies and procedures for technical leadership of Branson technologies and product lines.
• Lead an India organization for design, development, sustaining engineering and global welding programs.
• Maintain sound engineering concepts and quality standards for new and existing products.
• Oversee IP strategy including patents, publications and licensing in partnership with legal.
• Ensure quality controls and ISO certification compliance for the technology function.
• Plan and manage human resources, capex and opex to meet objectives; drive talent development and inclusion.
• Collaborate with universities and external organizations for technology transfer and training.
• Strategize portfolio management with Marketing; guide New Product Development and innovation leadership.
• Support India/Asia Operations with technical solutions across Quality, Service and Applications.
• Represent India/Asia in global engineering tasks and conferences.

Job Description

• Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies, plans, policies, and procedures to ensure the technical leadership of Branson technologies, to include existing product lines as well as development of new products and technologies. Strategies will be developed in conjunction with the Value Creation and Profitability Review process and programs supervised through Global Engineering Team.


• Lead an India organization responsible for material joining product design and development, sustaining engineering and global welding programs. Ensure that technological capabilities are present in the organization to achieve Growth and Profitability objectives


• Maintain sound engineering concepts and standards of design and quality in the development of new products, and in the improvement of existing products.


• Provide leadership for Branson’s intellectual property strategy, including patent, publication, and technology licensing activities, in partnership with legal department, to protect and commercialize technologies, that supports business objectives


• Ensure the establishment and administration of sound quality controls to acquire and ensure continued certification and compliance of the technology function under ISO


• Plan and implement plans for human resources, capital, and expenses to optimally meet business and functional objectives.


• In conjunction with Human Resources, responsible for the human resource development of the function. This includes recruiting, training, advising, appraising, mentoring, promoting, succession planning, terminating and compensation activities. Maintain an environment of motivation and passion to ensure high morale and minimize voluntary attrition while working towards specific goals of being Inclusive.


• Render assistance to universities requesting collaboration in the development and participation of work training programs; attend and participate in outside organizations and associations, meetings, panels, seminars, and surveys for the purpose of exchange of technology and information transfer.


• Develop, in conjunction with Marketing, strategic plans for portfolio management including recommendations on joint ventures, acquisitions, divestures and/or product line expansions. Lead the New Product Development funnel to ensure that NPD results are met, and that Innovation is constantly moving forward to achieve Technology Leadership.


• Support the India/Asia Operations, including Quality, Service and Application Teams for the technical support with valuable solutions.


• Represent Branson India/Asia in Global responsibilities which may include engineering symposiums, task forces, and Technology Conferences

For This Role, You Will Need:

• 20+ years of exp out which10+ years of relevant professional experience


• BE/ME/MS Degree in one or more engineering field of study. Degree in Electronics or Software engineering would be added advantage


• Knowledge ofComputer Science, and principles of business and technology.


• Experience as managerial contributions in Engineering, Research and Development within a manufacturing industrial enterprise.


• Excellent organizational and communication (written and oral) skills required, and a proven track record of successful new product development.


• Able to travel 30% to meet business needs


• Knowledge of Business Administration, Economics,


• Industrial experience in ultrasonic welding technology and applications.


• Demonstrated success leading multiple engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, software, systems, and applications engineering.
