Job description

Key Responsibilities
  1. VMware, Windows Servers, Windows Operating system like Win 10.
  2. Understands Networking - Switches, Routers, SDWAN, LAN, WAN, Cabling, VPN, WiFi.
  3. IT Security compliances; preferably TISAX audit exposure.
  4. Technical knowledge of AD, DHCP and DNS, Group creation & assignment.
  5. Managing the Patching process of the applications.
  6. Awareness of Storage.
  7. WDS Image deployment.
  8. Application support: Internal & third party.
  9. Proactive checks on event logs, alerts screens and following issues to resolution.
  10. Configuration of monitoring, alerts and management of alert response.
  11. Managing of maintenance and support contracts where appropriate.
  12. Performance management of the application.
  13. Capacity planning and management.
  14. License usage and management.
  15. Creating & updating user guides and training.
  16. Manage relationship with the business concerning privacy concerns.
  17. Applications are operated within the standards defined by GKN.
  18. User & Server Backup & restoration Commvault SIMPANA / Veritas Backup EXEC.
  19. Advanced MS Excel and PPT.
  20. Understands IT Security model.
  21. Able to support users on Office 365, TEAMS, Outlook Emails, BAR code printers / Network printers.
  22. Adherence to/attainment of SLA specifications/metrics as per ITIL based Ticketing Tool.
  23. Exposure in Manufacturing domain is MUST with good written and verbal communication skills.
Non Technical Skills
  1. Good Analytical mind, Customer handling, Problem handling and Risk management.
  2. Ability to handle day to day operations.
  3. Documentation, processing, filing, and recording.
  4. Escalation & risk management.
  5. Communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  6. Timely response (Max Response time ~ 30 min), Regular updates to the users, Resolution, Permanent fix as per GKN guidelines and SLAs.
  7. Execute GKN’s backup policy and maintain records.
  8. Periodic Reporting and Service reviews with GKN’s IS/IT.
  9. Any training required specific to the project on which the engineer is being deployed by the Service provider, the service provider agrees to train his engineers deputed at GKN.
  10. Offsite Program Manager from the Service provider to review with GKN Automotive the performance of the resources and the SLAs on Monthly basis.
  11. Refresh of EOL (end of life) assets during the engagement period in mutual consultation with GKN.
  12. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, users, administrators, and vendors.
  13. Provide training to users and personnel on assigned systems.
  14. Perform work in a virtualized environment and manage computers remotely.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  1. BE / BCA / MCA or Diploma with minimum 5 years of IT experience.

  1. Windows Servers, VMware, AD, WDS, Veritas & SIMPANA Commvault Backups, Networking, SDWAN, Office 365, Outlook Emails, Advanced MS Excel, Good spoken and written English communication skills, ITIL, Customer handling maturity, Stable employment record, IT Security & Audits.
