Job summary

TRC, a global environmental and engineering consulting firm, is seeking a GIS Data Engineer to design and maintain geospatial data pipelines for the utilities domain. You will automate data processing with Python (ArcPy) and integrate workflows with Esri platforms, contributing to enterprise GIS solutions.

The role requires 3–6 years of GIS data engineering experience, strong ArcGIS expertise, and experience with PostGIS/Oracle spatial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in GIS data engineering, scripting, and automation.
• Strong expertise in Esri technologies, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Server.
• Extensive experience with Python scripting (ArcPy) for data processing and automation.
• Proficiency in handling large geospatial datasets and geoprocessing tools.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle, including spatial extensions (PostGIS, ArcSDE).
• Familiarity with utility network models is highly desirable.
• Must have exp of FME for data transformation and automation is an added advantage.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with GIS developers and analysts to integrate data workflows with Esri platforms (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise).
• Support spatial data migration efforts, including data conversion and integration with utility network models.
• Optimize database performance for spatial queries and large datasets in PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Leverage FME for data transformation, automation, and integration tasks.
• Generate on-demand reports and dashboards for stakeholders using processed data.
