Job summary

ABS Workforce Solutions Private Limited in Pune is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for a full-time hybrid role based in Pune. You will plan and execute site investigations, collect soil samples, perform in-situ tests, and assess subsurface conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology.

• Proficiency in Foundation Design, including shallow and deep foundations.
• Ability to use geotechnical software and interpret geotechnical data for design and construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; a postgraduate degree is an advantage.
• Familiarity with national and international design codes and standards for geotechnical and foundation engineering.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities with multidisciplinary project teams.

Role Description

This is a full-time Geotechnical Engineer role based in Pune City, offered in a hybrid model with a mix of on-site and work-from-home flexibility. The Geotechnical Engineer will plan and execute site investigations, including soil sampling, in-situ testing, and data collection to assess subsurface conditions. The role involves analyzing soil and rock properties, preparing geotechnical reports, and providing recommendations for foundation design, ground improvement, and slope stability. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with structural and civil engineering teams, reviewing design documents, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, and supporting project planning and risk assessment. The Geotechnical Engineer will also participate in client meetings, assist in preparing technical proposals, and contribute to quality assurance and safety practices on project sites.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology, including subsurface characterization and geotechnical analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Site Investigation and Soil testing, including field investigations, laboratory testing, and interpretation of results.
• Proficiency in Foundation Design, including shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, and ground improvement solutions.
• Ability to use relevant geotechnical software and tools (e.g., PLAXIS, GEO5, or similar) and interpret geotechnical data for design and construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; a postgraduate degree in a related field is an advantage.
• Familiarity with national and international design codes and standards for geotechnical and foundation engineering.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills, with attention to detail and documentation quality.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities, including coordination with multidisciplinary project teams and clients.
• Prior experience in infrastructure, industrial, or building projects is beneficial; professional certifications or memberships are a plus.
