Job summary

ExxonMobil in Bengaluru, India seeks a Geoscience Analyst to manage 2D/3D/4D seismic data, conditioning inputs for interpretation platforms and streamlining workflows. You will work with global teams to enhance data quality and efficiency.

The role requires a Master’s in Geophysics, strong English, and 2+ years in geoscience data roles. Responsibilities include data conditioning, QC of vendor deliveries, and cross-functional collaboration to drive insights across seismic life-cycle.

Qualifications

• Masters in Geophysics or related field; relevant experience preferred.
• Advanced English, both written and verbal.
• 2+ years in geoscience data management roles.
• Knowledge of seismic processing and interpretation methods.
• Experience with Petrel/Studio and ArcGIS; SEGY formats familiarity.
• Proficiency in coordinates systems, datums, and projections; SQL basics.

Responsibilities

• Manage 2D/3D/4D seismic data to support interpretation workflows.
• Condition data, deliver to interpretation platforms, ensure data quality.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to provide seismic lifecycle insights.
• QC deliverables from vendors and partners; ensure completeness.

What role you will play in our team

As a Geoscience Analyst (GA) you will manage 2D/3D/4D seismic data to drive operational excellence. Your responsibilities are data conditioning, delivery of data to interpretation platforms and streamlining end-to-end workflows to maximize efficiency and data quality. Moreover, you will collaborate cross-functionally to contribute with insights on the seismic data life-cycle. Our office is located in Bengaluru, India and you will interact with teams all around the world.

What you will do

• Utilize advanced techniques to inspect and condition seismic data to ensure geospatial accuracy, as the basis for the reliable geological interpretation and the success of well drilling programs.
• Capably prepare 2D/3D data to interpretation platforms appropriate repositories fulfilling the corportate best practices.
• Continuosly improve Data Quality processes through automation and scripting, facilitating seamlessly integration of seismic data across various systems of records
• Validate and QC deliverables from vendors and partners, such as: contracts, transmittals, navigation files and seismic deliveries ensuring completeness and entitlements
• Data visualization and metrics to provide actionable insights.

About You

Skills & Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in Geophysics or related field of study.
• Advanced English skills, verbal and written communication.
• 2+ years experience in Geoscience data management roles
• Knowledge of Geophysics: seismic processing and interpretation methods
• Demonstrable technical skills of Petrel/Studio, manipulating seismic data (2D/3D/4D), SEG-Y formats, and common processing versions.
• Demonstrable working experience with ArcGIS and proficient in coordinates systems , datums and projections
• Strong at interpersonal and collaboration skills, capable to communicate with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Scripting skills oriented to automation and orchestration (e.g. PowerShell, Python)
• Hands-on experience with SQL: design, query optimization, data manipulation
• Data Analytics and AI experience desirable
• Basic understanding ofLinux Operating System
