Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Genetic Counselor with at least 2 years of experience in a diagnostic setting. The ideal candidate will work closely with patients and healthcare professionals to provide expert genetic counseling, helping individuals and families understand and manage the genetic aspects of health and disease. The position requires a professional with strong communication skills, a solid background in genetics, and the ability to support patients through complex medical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Counseling: Provide genetic counseling services to individuals and families with concerns regarding inherited diseases or genetic conditions.
  2. Genetic Testing Guidance: Advise patients on the appropriate genetic tests based on family history, medical records, and personal health information.
  3. Results Interpretation: Review and interpret genetic test results, explaining findings and implications to patients in an understandable manner.
  4. Risk Assessment: Evaluate and assess the risk of genetic disorders based on family history and medical information, and provide patients with risk-reduction strategies.
  5. Care Coordination: Collaborate with healthcare teams, including doctors, geneticists, and other specialists, to develop a personalized care plan for patients.
  6. Emotional Support: Offer psychological support to patients and families, addressing concerns, fears, and emotional reactions to genetic conditions or test results.
  7. Patient Education: Educate patients on the genetic conditions, inheritance patterns, prevention strategies, and the implications of genetic testing.
  8. Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough records of patient interactions, genetic counseling sessions, and test results.
