Job summary

Sigma Earth is seeking a seasoned ESG/EHS due diligence consultant to support multi-site projects across local, national, and global markets. You will assist in preparing advisory work for legal, corporate, and financial clients and contribute to transaction risk assessments and due diligence execution.

You will prepare technical reports on environmental liabilities and compliance, and conduct desktop research on ESG topics, benchmarking, and reporting best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, climate science, environmental engineering, geology, business administration, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental consulting with ESG/EHS due diligence knowledge.
  • Strong technical background evaluating EHS/ESG performance including governance, compliance, and liability management.
  • Understanding of global assessment standards, business transaction concepts, and related legal considerations.
  • Experience preparing comprehensive technical reports for professional or client use.
  • Experience in sectors such as energy, mining and metals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, telecommunications, infrastructure, or finance.
  • Understanding of broader sustainability and ESG topics including EU Green Deal.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills, with PowerPoint formatting and reporting ability preferred.

Responsibilities

  • ESG and EHS due diligence: Support complex ESG and EHS due diligence projects involving multi-site portfolios and project teams across local, national, and global markets.
  • Client advisory support: Assist in preparing consulting advice for legal, corporate, and financial clients.
  • Transaction risk assessment: Support clients in understanding liabilities, risks, and opportunities linked to transactions.
  • Due diligence execution: Carry out due diligence assessment tasks in line with global protocols and established project requirements.
  • Technical reporting: Prepare clear and concise reports assessing potential environmental liabilities, compliance status, and operational risks of target facilities.
  • Desktop research: Conduct research on relevant environmental, social, and governance topics, including industry benchmarking and reporting practices.
  • Project delivery: Work on regional and global projects while meeting scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Project management support: Collaborate with ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers to support effective project planning and delivery.
  • Global collaboration: Work across regions and global practice communities to share knowledge and deliver integrated client solutions.

  • Relevant experience: 3+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with knowledge of environmental due diligence projects.
  • Technical due diligence expertise: Strong technical background in evaluating company EHS and ESG performance, including governance, compliance, and liability management.
  • Transaction knowledge: Understanding of global assessment standards, business transaction concepts, and related legal and commercial considerations.
  • Technical writing: Experience preparing comprehensive technical reports for professional or client-facing use.
  • Sector exposure: Experience in sectors such as energy, mining and metals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, telecommunications, infrastructure, or finance is preferred.
  • ESG awareness: Understanding of broader sustainability and ESG topics relevant to real‑economy companies and investors, including ESG governance, climate strategy, decarbonization, human rights, and the EU Green Deal.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Independent working: Ability to manage multiple tasks, remain flexible, work independently with minimal supervision, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Technical tools: Strong Microsoft 365 skills, with strong PowerPoint formatting and reporting ability preferred.
