Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of general surgical procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, mastectomy, bowel resection, laparotomy, thyroidectomy, and colonoscopy.
• Provide emergency surgical care for trauma patients, including managing acute injuries, internal bleeding, and life‑threatening conditions.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments, develop individualized surgical plans, and obtain informed consent from patients.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient surgical workflows.
• Manage post‑operative care, including monitoring recovery, managing complications, and coordinating follow‑up treatment.
• Utilize advanced laparoscopic and open surgical techniques to minimize patient trauma and improve recovery times.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, including operative notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and emergency response protocols as required.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, quality improvement initiatives, and hospital‑wide clinical audits.
• Mentor junior medical staff and contribute to surgical training programs when applicable.

Requirements

• MBBS degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification in General Surgery (MS or equivalent).
• Valid registration with the Medical Council of India (or equivalent) and a current license to practice.
• Minimum of 1 year of post‑graduation clinical experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in performing appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, mastectomy, bowel resection, laparotomy, thyroidectomy, colonoscopy, and emergency trauma surgery.
