Job description
Responsibilities
Perform a comprehensive range of general surgical procedures, including laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair (TEP/TAPP), bowel resection, exploratory laparotomy, adhesiolysis, thyroidectomy, mastectomy, hemorrhoidectomy, fistulotomy, and wound debridement.
Conduct thorough preoperative evaluations, including patient history, physical exams, and diagnostic assessments to determine surgical eligibility and plan interventions.
Lead surgical teams during complex procedures, ensuring strict compliance with sterile technique, safety protocols, and evidence‑based practices.
Manage postoperative care, including recovery monitoring, complication management, and coordination with primary and specialty care providers.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of all surgical procedures and patient interactions in electronic medical records (EMR).
Collaborate effectively with anesthesiologists, nurses, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated, high‑quality care.
Participate in on‑call duties to manage acute surgical emergencies such as trauma, acute abdomen, and postoperative complications.
Stay updated on advancements in surgical techniques, technology, and clinical guidelines through ongoing education and professional development.
Contribute to hospital‑wide quality improvement, safety audits, and surgical outcome monitoring programs.
Requirements
MBBS degree with postgraduate qualification in General Surgery (MS/MD) from a recognized medical institution.
Valid registration with the Medical Council of India (or equivalent) and a valid license to practice.
