Job Title: General Manager – Operations
Department: Operations
Location: Goa (Corlim Industrial Estate)
Reports To: Board of Directors
Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Execution: Develop and oversee daily, weekly, and long-term production schedules to meet targets and delivery timelines. Coordinate with Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Quality teams to ensure seamless production flow. Monitor real-time KPIs and implement corrective actions to resolve deviations.
- Capacity Utilization & Productivity: Optimize plant capacity, manpower, and material usage for maximum output. Lead initiatives to enhance machine efficiency, minimize downtime, and remove production bottlenecks. Implement lean manufacturing practices to improve overall productivity.
- Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure adherence to product quality specifications and standards. Collaborate with QA and Technical teams to resolve quality issues and customer concerns. Maintain strict compliance with SOPs, audits, and statutory regulations.
- Cost Optimization: Monitor production costs and identify opportunities to reduce wastage and operational expenses. Drive cost-reduction projects through process improvement and resource optimization. Track cost per unit and implement strategies to improve cost efficiency.
- Team Management & Development: Lead and mentor production supervisors, line managers, and shop-floor personnel. Define roles, set KPIs, and conduct performance reviews. Promote a culture of learning through regular training, skill enhancement, and safety awareness programs.
- Safety, Health & Environment: Ensure strict adherence to safety policies and statutory norms. Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and drills periodically. Oversee environmental compliance related to waste management and energy conservation.
- Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Maintain and present daily, weekly, and monthly production reports highlighting key performance metrics. Participate in management reviews and provide data-driven insights. Recommend and implement improvement plans based on performance trends.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Degree in Mechanical, Textile, or Industrial Engineering (Postgraduate qualification preferred).
- Experience: 12–15 years in production/manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role.
- Industry Background: Preferred experience in Elastic/Narrow Fabric, Textile, Garment, or Process Manufacturing industries.

- Strong expertise in production planning and operations management.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and TPM methodologies.
- Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and compliance standards.
