Job summary

Technocraft Ventures Limited invites a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead the engineering department, overseeing design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover for major government EPC projects.

You will mentor a team of engineers, review technical data, and coordinate across procurement, site execution, operations and maintenance to ensure timely delivery, quality, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering and project management, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Proven track record of successful EPC project delivery in wastewater/sewerage treatment.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for recording measurements and quantities and in AutoCAD for reviewing sewerage networks.

Job description

• Work directly with and under the Board of Directors in a key strategic role for efficient project execution of major government projects.
• Lead the engineering department and oversee all aspects of project engineering, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technical professionals, ensuring high performance, productivity, and quality of work.
• Review and approve all technical data prepared by the junior engineers working under the General Manager - including drawings & measurement data prepared for monitoring progress and billing purposes.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for recording measurements and calculating quantities leveraging sewerage network formulas for preparing client bills.
• Review sewerage network drawings prepared by junior engineers utilizing AutoCAD and educate the team as needed for progress monitoring.
• Develop and implement engineering standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
• Coordinate with other departments, including procurement, site execution, operations, and maintenance, to ensure timely and effective project execution.
• Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities and develop and implement risk mitigation and opportunity capture plans.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors, and ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage project budgets and resources and ensure timely and accurate reporting of project performance to senior management.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors or masters degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering and project management, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Proven track record of successful project delivery in the wastewater and sewerage treatment sector, including experience in EPC projects.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of professionals.
• Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and manage complex engineering challenges and risks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for recording measurements and calculating quantities leveraging sewerage network formulas for preparing client bills.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for reviewing sewerage networks prepared by junior engineers and educating them as needed.
• Strong business acumen, with the ability to develop and manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering standards, regulations, and best practices, including those related to quality, safety, and environmental management.
• Experience in working with government agencies and stakeholders, and a proven ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and partners.
