Job summary

Siemens Real Estate globally manages office and production spaces and seeks a General Manager – Construction to lead industrial and office building projects in India. The role requires senior leadership, program management, and a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and EHS.

You will guide internal teams and external partners, manage budgets and schedules, and advance BIM-driven digitalization across projects while interacting with C-level stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 25+ years of experience in industrial and office building projects in India, or abroad.
• Experience leading multiple projects across India and abroad.
• Knowledge in project programming, schedule planning & budget tracking, QA/QC, EHS management and integration of sustainability, experienced with BIM, digitalization and visualization tools.
• Demonstrated team leadership experience in a multi-cultural environment.
• Fluent in English and Hindi; willing to travel within India.

In our project management team, you will meet a team of project managers and experts who are responsible for the planning and realization of all office and production properties of Siemens in Asia.

As internal service provider, we have a holistic responsibility over costs, timelines, quality, organization, and safety, from the first feasibility study until the handover to end users and beyond till the end of the warranty.

What role will you play?

• Self-responsible management of construction projects of industrial production facilities and office buildings from initiation, planning, execution, to close-out with providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality, sustainability and EHS standards, to ensure completion within schedule and budget, in accordance with the companies’ standards, policies and procedures
• Lead and guide project team of internal experts and external partners, communicate with stakeholders and work with supporting functions to develop project agreements with scope of work, schedules, and budgets as well as to lead the preparation of project specific investment applications.
• Responsible for communicating with the customer, team members, and other stakeholders by creating an environment for continuous dialogue and trusting collaboration. Conduct project board and steering committee meetings to review the project status with the business and function leaders, lead weekly meetings and any other communication required to manage a project successfully. Demonstrates superior relationship and communication skills based on facts while displaying a positive attitude.
• Drive digitalization forward, find and integrate new technologies and materials.

After 2 years the ideal candidate will have the opportunity to take over the role as SRE CST team lead India.

• Identify strengths and develop each member and his role in projects and the SRE team.
• Establish roles and responsibilities for all the team members.
• Possess ability to provide concise and comprehensive synopsis of vital information and present them clearly to aid management in decision making.
• Empower the team in the execution of their responsibilities, provide support and resources, create a team spirit of positive motivation and emotional bonding.
• Understanding of customers and anticipation of topics related to real estate.
• Communication on C-level executives

You are:

• A degree holder in Civil/ Structural Engineering, Mechanical, Architecture or Construction Management
• An experienced project manager with at least 25+ years’ experience in industrial and office building projects in India, involving the overall project phases of greenfield and brown field projects and demonstrated experience in leading multiple projects through various phases in India and abroad.
• Knowledge in project programming, schedule planning & budget tracking, QA/ QC, EHS management and integration of sustainability, experienced with Building Information Modelling (BIM), digitalization and visualization tools.
• Demonstrated team leader experience, ideally in a multi-cultural environment.
• Fluent in English and Hindi language skills, oral and written. Willing to travel within India.
