Job summary

Ecolab in Pune, India seeks a driven General Ledger Accounting Analyst to support month-end activities and general ledger maintenance. You will apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and assist team members, contributing to timely closes and audit readiness.

The role involves managing ERP tools, preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and collaborative work with team leads to drive process improvements and training across the Finance group.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or finance with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Solid grasp of US GAAP; IFRS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day general ledger accurately.
• Perform month-end accruals and close activities (FX revaluation, VAT, prepaid accruals).
• Manage ERP and tools such as SAP, HFM, OnBase.
• Prepare and enter journal entries into Blackline with supporting docs.
• Prepare and reconcile accounts; investigate open items and escalate as needed.
• Review and approve reconciliations; support audit readiness (SOX, internal/external).
• Assist in developing/describing desktop procedures, policies, and narratives.
• Support training and knowledge sharing within the team.

In this position, you will assist and contribute to perform month end activities to comply with DTP, policies, procedures, and deadlines.

Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information.

Assist and train other team members, support team leads.

• Manage the day-to-day maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree in accounting or finance and 4+ years of significant work experience.
• Familiarity with fundamental business principles, processes, and terminology.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes in a dynamic business environment.
• Ability to work with data accurately and pay attention to details.
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
• Strong knowledge of USGAAPs. (IFRS a plus)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word, and Outlook software

• Ability to work independently and resolve complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Process Improvement tools (i.e. LSS)
• Deep Knowledge of SAP, HFM and Power BI will be a plus.
